Instantly engaging deckbuilding-roguelite strategy game with fun pixel graphics. All your explorers have individual passive effects, and you get to craft your deck based on how well you collect resources - you need to have enough food to comfortably devote time to collecting gold to pay for new cards. It's very rewarding when your strategy all comes together.

It's short but sweet, and the mechanics don't overstay their welcome.

Mix'n'matching your upgrades fixes the normal roguelite pain of "this would be great if my build wasn't the complete opposite" to "oh, let me just fix my build real quick with this new cool thing"

It starts as a difficult recommend at full price, but after a few near-victories and an actual victory, more and more features unlock. If you are a fan of the Elden Ring gameplay with some frenetic twists to it, don't be hesitant to pick it up. Enemies are sourced from previous Soulsian games; not just Elden Ring. Games are scaled for either a three-player experience, or a solo experience with an empowered player and gentler AI targeting. There are no in-game comms other than marking the map and marking the world with two separate ping options; playing with external voice chat is extremely highly recommended. Soulsian games usually feature "jolly" co-operation; the co-operation with randoms in this game is not jolly, because anyone who gives up on a run dooms the other two to a massive difficulty spike. Remember that merely surviving longer grants better rewards; victory is not required.

While it's a competent production (and has the usual bugs involved in an early access title), I do not enjoy the gameplay. The optimal play is to run past all enemies, disable or clear anything in the way or capable of catching you. This is fine. The problem is that the enemies appear to infinitely spawn in a small radius around you, making it literally impossible to clear any area. The only way to get a moment to yourself is to abuse the AI by standing on something too tall for it to jump on. On top of that, there is no mechanism for re-entering the game once your character dies. In shorter missions this is fine, but games can easily take an hour and if you happen to get swarmed before you meet up with the others, there isn't even the option to spectate players you haven't met yet. You just have a gameover screen for fifty minutes (I assume you could leave and join some other game, but I was with my buds).
The final straw was when I finally won a mission, and then it gave me some two minutes or so to run 500 meters through zombie-infested land cityscape. It was literally not possible to cover the distance in the time provided. The awful part about this was that the last part of the mission was itself another timed "survive the onslaught" section where it *could* have given me an indication that I needed to be somewhere else at the end of that time. But it didn't.
I imagine that if the idea of this game appeals to you, you will like this game quite a bit once the issues are ironed out. It's just not for me.

The translation is incredibly jank, and the balance is off - plenty of "upgrades" feel a lot more like "alternate options". The path generation for moving between areas frequently leaves you with no choices, so if you don't prepare correctly, you'll run out of resources.

But this is a wonderful and unique mini-city-builder strategy game.

You have to maintain your Ark by mining and growing resources, spending those resources on construction or ammo, and fighting off monsters as the Ark walks to the next area. You also have to balance your citizens' food needs and the actual structures you're building, as structures on the bottom need to grow stronger to support your ever-rising cityscape.

It's very addictive and not so complex that you have to write out spreadsheets - but you can if you want.

Very satisfying buildcrafting game with plenty of options. Free-to-play, so it requires time investment, but you can just leave it open all day and play in five-minute chunks so your playtime skyrockets and you feel like you've done nothing with your life. What's not to love?
