The experience definitely isn't for everyone, it's very slow paced and quiet, but if you have a lot of free time and put yourself in the shoes of someone in a time where online RPGs were basically an unknown, it's a genuinely neat experience. I've only played basegame so I can't speak on expansions yet, but the story is very few and far between, I find the journey and world itself to be the reward. Hoping the expansions boost it even higher for me :)

I wanted to love this game, I really did. I was rooting for a big Bethesda bounceback after all the negative publicity they'd had with their last release. But unfortunately, this is not it. I could not get myself to keep playing, it's riddled with loading screens, any free exploration is painfully boring, and the storytelling is just not interesting enough to hold my attention through it all, among many, many other design oddities.

It pains me to say that this as I have been obsessive about the games from this developer the last few years, but is now easily my least favorite Bethesda release. It had the potential to be a fantastic game in concept but the execution was a grand misstep, and what we are left with is a fundamentally flawed experience. The only real positives I can think of from my time with the game is the absolutely phenomenal soundtrack, and that the locations and visual design looks very nice. I think that's really all.

All in all, I am very disappointed by this release. I sincerely hope Bethesda can learn from this experience and put together a competent Elder Scrolls 6, but I will no longer be holding my breath. I can only hope we get a redemption story out of this before long.
