TLDR - New Player AVOID. The game has under gone recent changes restricting new F2P players, now you need to pay.

The recent changes have made this game no longer friendly to new players unless you have a lot of money to throw at it.

In a few days there will be a major rework to patron currency that feels beyond extreme, one of the only avenues to gear up retired champions has been removed, the result is unless you have already been playing for years you will no longer be able to power these characters up thus making a large portion of the game inaccessible to you (Unless you spend lots of money!)
There was another way to get gear for retired players during events, but apparently it was a bug that the developer decided recently to fix... after years of it being in the game.

Unless you are an end game player who has already completed the high reward patron quests, you will no longer be able to use patron chests as a way to get epic gear for retired or new champions.

You either live with a limited roster or you pay out of your pocket to gear them up, I believe others have worked it out to be about fifty dollars per character.... there is a lot of characters.

I have purchased the two previous season passes, but as you may be able to tell, I do not recommend this game any more, the developers are getting greedy and the players will suffer for it.

Brutal game that does its best to kill you with passive aggression.
Love it.

Simplistic game that is surprisingly enjoyable.

There is no hand holding and you are not really given any guidance other than build and expand. I am really enjoying the design choices and the fact I only really need to monitor two resources. It managed to be relaxing and tense at the same time and the art style really works to hide the difficulty, the different weather effects are rather impressive as well.

Story 7/10
Graphics 8/10
Mechanics 7/10

Really enjoying this one. After the third game I was a little worried as it was subpar in comparison to the second one but Black Flag corrects many flaws in both story telling and mechanics.

So far my one real gripe is a glitch that causes me to freeze and drop to desktop, I could still hear the sound but the game had frozen. In the end I corrected this by tweaking some graphics sliders (mainly AA and fog) which help a lot, the last thing that finally seems to have removed it was reducing my GPU clock by -5.... as stupid as that sounds it hasn't happened since.

This game has only slightly improved in some areas over AC2, the graphics are better and the mechanics have been tweaked. Unfortunately the game takes an interesting setting and draws it out enough to become tedious. The story has an interesting concept but I dislike how slow things move.

The character development and currency system also feel like a step back, making money through the settlement system feels overly complicated and slow. I also had issues with the weapon system and never felt the need to purchase new ones.

Still an enjoyable game but not the leap forward that the second game was.

There are so many things I love about this game and many great reviews so I will just list the things that I think reduce the end result.

- Difficulty Setting: There is no real difficulty setting to choose, while the game can be difficult early on it quickly becomes a one sided fight and near the end you rarely if ever die. It would really have been nice to include the option to increase difficulty in a more major way than just turning off combat icons. Alongside increasing the health/damage of opponents there could have been a way to decrease xp/power earned, this would drag the game out a little longer for those after a challenge and leads into my next point.

- End-Game: Once you approach the later sections you become very powerful and even a half competent player should die very rarely. While this is not an issue on its own, I do believe that the game needs a New Game+ feature or an option to 'stunt' the players progress.

- Stats: I like the way you can build the legend of your weapons.... what i find baffling is that you are unable to see the statistics on how many orcs you have killed with a paticular weapon?! It would be nice to know that my sword has taken the life of a thousand orcs!

Part of me wants to continue playing this game as the combat is so much fun, however there is only so many times you can salughter orcs for the sake of it.

This is not the perfect zombie experience... but it makes a really good effort towards it.
Short answer: I recommend this game for anyone who likes sandbox or zombie games.

Long answer:
zombie sandbox game emphasizing survival during the outbreak, have been really enjoying it so far and I think I will easily get another twenty hours out of it before I shelve it.
The gameplay is alot of fun and mechanically most things feel fairly good. There are some nice ideas being tried out and for the most part they pay off and result in a fun game. Some more options for difficulty would have been nice but I believe the DLC has that covered.

The graphics are not amazing but they are good enough that it does not detract from the game, there is room for more optimization but it ran fine on my machine which is mid range. I have not yet had a crash which is nice.

Considering this is the first game from this developer I am actually suprised how good it is, I know I picked it up rather late in the update list so many issues have been fixed. I recommend picking up the DLC if you see it at a good price purely because I believe that a true sandbox mode is needed once the campaign has been finished. I also think needing to purchase this DLC is a let down in terms of value as the mode should be in the main game from the start!

There is a small list of annoyances in regards to gameplay but nothing game breaking, the primary being the inability to set survivors with special skills roles (and not go out and risk their lives). Other than that one though nothing else jumps out at me enough that it detracted from the game. So far I have not had any gameplay bugs which is suprising.

There is a really good foundation here to build upon and I am sure if they release a sequal it will be amazing.

7/10

Brilliant game, has moved back towards a stealth classic and away from the previous incarnations of action games.

There is a tonne of content with a large list of unlocks and an impressive number of missions. The multiplayer game modes are very good but the coop maps are excellent as well.

Level design allows for multiple paths in nearly all instances, combined with the different play styles allowed it offers replayability should you choose.

I recommend this to anyone who enjoys a well done stealth game with a sprinkling of shooting action.

The only real negative is Ubisoft's need to make you login through Uplay, this irks me slightly but does not detract from the game.

Build rockets... crash... blow up.... fall apart.... eventually get to the Mun!! Try the demo at the very least.

Something about this game ticks many boxes I wouldn't expect. The creation side is easy to learn and allows for endless variations in design for your rockets, the inclusion of the campaigns science component now adds some direction for those who find it hard to look at a planet and think "I can get there!"
The game manages to introduce many complex concepts in a non brain destroying manner and makes it all fun.

I find myself still creating new variations of my rockets and landers in a constant cycle to improve and get larger ships into orbit. Creating a multi part deep sace station didn't lessen this either.....

Even in its incomplete state I rank this game very highly.
