War thunder is gem of a game in its ideas, There really is nothing alike, especially if you are a military vehicle enthusiast/nerd.
In the early stages of the game its genuinely a lot of fun, while it feeds you a false idea of what the rest of the game might eventually look like by being able to grind pretty quickly. Eventually all slows down and the only real way to get back to the satisfying grind is by spending real money on the game to get premium time or vehicles which Steeply rise in price the higher tier you go (up to $80 for something that you will regret when theres no use left or it suddenly becomes not viable anymore).

The early game does continue to be fun and there is some fun to be had later into the game, but due to its extremely predatory design do not recommend this game for new people as it will try sucking the fun out of you till you spend money for a temporary fix. It can genuinely become an addiction and i've seen it going that way plenty of times before.
