Great experience overall. For those who want to mainly play solo as I have, this game is still definitely worth buying. I feel like there's some nice mechanical improvements from the previous Outlast games while also still respecting their visions; the general feel of it resembles the original in a lot of ways which was great and perhaps surprising given the length of time between this RB release and the first game (over a decade, so potential for many changes within the structure of the Red Barrels creative teams).

The loop and progression is satisfying enough without being addictive. Familiarity, but plenty of new things to adjust to. If you loved poring over the documents in the first two games, the new ones that you discover throughout trials may help you connect a few dots from those in the first two games.

The trial environments are super interesting in their own right, and I've really enjoyed learning how to progress through each one so far. They can get mildly repetitive, but you would be surprised what the modification of objectives and other parameters can do to give the environments a new feeling of life. They have clearly made a conscious effort to ensure variety, and this success varies but is generally acceptable from my experience.

To summarise and keep the review (kinda) short: If you love Outlast, I think you'll love this. It's a bit of old and a bit of new and the result is quite impressive. Bring your friends into the mix and the possibilities for mayhem and fun grow even further with clear intent for cooperative playstyles baked into the gameplay. I have to say as well - being able to experience Outlast-style gameplay outside of the main instalments, but with changing environments, objectives and modifiers, is fantastic. Love the gameplay of the former titles, but say it's been too soon since your last story playthrough? Boot up this one.

A great game that can really take control of your emotions. Whether you want to be a killer and hunt survivors or be a survivor and try to escape the invulnerable killer is completely up to the player and this is what sets this apart from many other games. It is very unique and definitely worth buying!

A recent update that added readable tutorials to the game will also help newer players understand how to play the game before delving into the immersive world of Dead by Daylight!

This game is amazing, I currently have 55 hours of play time and I can't stop playing it. Some of the ways people react are really funny and there are plenty of missions to enjoy. Before you complete the missions though, there are plenty of places within the missions to explore and find easter eggs. I would recommend this game to anyone who really likes stealth games.
