Between diving deep into a hostile planet for riches with three other drunken goobers and being crushed to death by the icy waters of Europa, this is a breath of (admittedly stagnant) fresh air. This game's got a simple premise, but dammit, it's fun as all hell. The proximity voice chat sells it, often leading to some moments you'd only expect right out of a movie.

1.0 has dropped, and it sucks.

Zero optimization, leading to hideous frame drops (Ryzen 7 3700X, RTX 2060, 16 GB RAM). Multiple CTDs and game freezes just trying to load into missions or changing loadouts. All suspect AI have marksmanship skills to rival John Wick. Suspects also are invulnerable to .308 center of mass, even unarmored. Flash, stingers, and CS seemingly do nothing against barely coherent and lucid crackheads. To even crack B rank, everything has to go perfect, and you need to pull off some sort of unholy ritual to the elder god RNGesus to even get him to think about giving you those points. Being able to pick and choose missions is no longer possible because of "narrative reasons". Different points of entry (where you spawn) genuinely do not work at all.

As it stands right now, Ready or Not clearly wasn't. Could there be updates later on that make the game "playable"? Sure. Anything's possible. But that's not what we have.

We have a broken and unplayable mess. VOID Interactive had 10 months between the last publicly available build (Early Access 25346, February 9, 2023) and 1.0, and what we got was genuinely worse than what we had prior. I started playing around April 2022, and the game ran and felt so much better than 1.0 in its current state. This game is a shadow of its former self.

If only I could get my $40 back.
