A solid take on the Souls-like formula with a dash of the double-edged sword known as procedural generation.

I've always loved the Rune Factory series, ever since stumbling upon in years ago on the Wii with Rune Factory: Frontier. Rune Factory 4 Special has blown me away with the sheer detail, interactions and amount of content hidden throughout.

This game has so much attention to detail, from small stuff like people mentioning events, to huge complex things like different NPCs having different things to say while accompanying you, and very unique character and town events.

As for the combat side of things, the freedom in the form of crafting your perfect weapons, armor and accessories, mixed with all the different possible weapons (and how some change based on how you craft them) adds so much to the freedom to make your character, well, yours.

TL;DR - It's a solid game, and easily my favorite Rune Factory game of all time. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys Farming/Social/Townlife games with a mix of RPG. There's a great story here, with great combat and farming; all of this combined makes for a very fun and enjoyable experience. :)

This game is a very well-done hard RPG. I say "hard" because on normal and higher difficulties, you'll want a proper build to ensure you don't get stuck, but on easy you can still play this like a more free-form RPG. It has a unique XP system of Oddities (with optional Classic XP for normal RPG XP Systems + Oddities giving small XP too) and overall I've been hooked. If you enjoy Fallout 1 & 2 or other similar style games/RPGs, give this a try! I recommend grabbing the DLC, as it adds a ton of stuff.

The Divinity Original Sin is one of my favourite games, from the controls to the open-ended gameplay where you can freely do as you want as you progress the 60-120 hours of story (personally at 70 hours in and halfway through, if you go faster the average is 60 hours on HowLongToBeat) but if you do all the side stuff and wander about, as I have, clearly there's a lot more to see.

Overall the game has great mechanics and use of skill points in trees to then unlock abilities; for instance you can put a point in magic such as Geomancer and then you have 1 point so you can learn 3 novice spells, and you can learn/forget spells via your skill menu (if say later you wish to have something else, fine-tuning is simple) and as you add more points it costs more (level 2 is 2 points, etc) which means you can go well-rounded or devote yourself to mastering a couple skills you really want. This means no two characters are the same, unless you purposefully build them as such.

The conclusion, for me; is that this game has been a love hobby of mine for 4 years - and I still enjoy every encounter, every choice I make feels like it makes an impact on the world. This game is honestly a lot of fun, especially for single-player or co-op.

*Side note: If I ever fully finish this game, I might eventually get to play Divinity: Original Sin II and post a review in another year or two for that game as well, haha. Cheers. o/

A DBZ Fighting game with good balance and a huge roster? What more can you ask for. If you've never seen Dragon Ball, there's still a strong game here - and very unique mechanics like homing attack and dragon dash that you may enjoy.

Early Access Review
This game is the true sandbox experience MMO where your actions shape the world. The community is amazing and it's been a joy to play. I followed the game's development for 7 years and I was very surprised when I realised I didn't write a review all this time! If you love games of the online sandbox genre then this game will be for you. If you've never played a sandbox MMO, I urge you to give this a try. :)

Early Access Review
This game has a few bugs, this should be expected in an Early Access title; it's not supposed to be finished, but a glimpse of what it will be. For a "glimpse" this game is beyond beautiful. From videos, I thought the UI was bland and that the world was very well-made; on the contrary the world is still just as beautifully-crafted with a good mix of clutter rather than every "tile" having perfect little flowers/bushes that dare not overlap other plants. The way that the world is presented makes it feel just as real as being outside; which to me is a large aspect of what draws me to the nature presented.

As far as the UI goes, it grew on me and I realised that it suits the game's style more than a colorful UI that distracts from the rest of the game. The AI has some issues, but not enough that it takes away from the experience, and not any that I imagine can't be fixed in time. I would say the two issues I personally have with the AI are how NPCs get stuck on trees/etc and keep moving back and forth, unable to pass (Humans, only; from what I've seen, the Bear goes through trees.) and that aniamls just push up into you constantly damaging you without much delay or other means (A wolf pushed my friend's bear backwards while hitting it.) the damage feels a bit off, too; since a wolf did 30% to a bear and the bear had my help with a bow to kill the wolf; but hopefully these types of balance will all fall in line in time.

Overall, I found myself unable to put down the game, working towards making a shipping bin and earning money - I honestly started playing this game similar to a farming game, selling unneeded materials for useful items, and ultimately working towards building a great home. I'll update this review as I play more, and find more that I like/dislike. :)

Side Note: This game also doesn't have much info floating around, so this is another issue since we've all become accustomed to having fully fleshed-out wikis for games and learning everything ourselves is a tad daunting, so hopefully more info will become readily available for everyone.

Cheers!

I highy recommend this game to anyone who enjoys turn-based strategy, over-the-top attacks or hilarious dialog; this game is a beautiful blend of the former three, making for a lovely ride that keeps you entertained. There's a bit of grinding in the post-game, but not without reward. The level cap is 9999 with some crazy-obtainable stats to go along with it. There's an "Item World" for items where you can fight NPCs and subdue special ones to keep living on your weapon to increase stats. There's a lot of content and I hope my review helps others take the plunge.
