Really fun game, unfortunately the Galactic Assault mode is overrun by hackers, which sucks because it is my favorite mode. I would love to see a Battlefront III with even more content, more robust matchmaking options, and a more in-depth progression system. There's a winning formula here!

I want to recommend this game without caveats, but I can't. There is a good game here, but it is buried beneath Bethesda levels of jank. Seriously, the menus are buggy, the AI is buggy, the lighting was allegedly "accidentally" broken by the latest update, and some of the gadgets were entirely broken by the most recent update. A hotfix that claimed to fix them, didn't.

If you can look past all these technical problems, the gameplay is tense and challenging, and the themes and hidden storylines are surprisingly insightful for a tactical shooter.

The art style has improved significantly in comparison to the previous two Halo games. The soundtrack may be derivative of the classic Halo soundtracks but that isn't too much of a problem when those soundtracks were as good as they were.

The story and open world will likely only appeal to veteran Halo players, but it's still fun at it's core and a step up from the campaign in Halo 5: Guardians.

The weapon sandbox has been tightened to mixed effects; some new additions such as the Skewer in lieu of the Spartan Laser are lovely, other such as the nerfing of the plasma pistol and the introduction of the disruptor are baffling. The multiplayer overall is a joy to play, but it's hampered by a lack of features coupled with aggressive monetization of the admittedly good customization system.

Overall, I would argue there is a very good game here. I have spent $80 on this game altogether, including the campaign, the battlepass, and an MTX purchase. In return, I got 150 hours of playtime as I (as of the time of writing this review) 100%'d the campaign and nearly completed the first of the 100-tier battle passes. I'll probably get more hours still out of grinding ranked multiplayer and playing with friends. That more content is going to be added to this game via it's live-service model will probably also keep me coming back for more.

I think to have the same amount of fun I had with this game, you'll have to enjoy the core Halo experience. And if you don't know whether you enjoy Halo gameplay, give the multiplayer a try (it's free to play) and decide for yourself whether you'd like to purchase the battlepass and campaign from there. You haven't got much to lose by trying this game out, and despite missing features, there's potential you'll gain just as many hours of fun out of it as I did, and maybe many more.

Only game that's ever made me have a pretty good cry. Thanks for that Rockstar.

Honestly, not a bad game. I played it entirely solo and got a decent 50 hours out of it doing most of the main quest arcs and a couple of the major side quest arcs. The survival elements are fun without being annoying, the base building is still fun, and the speech skill checks (and skill checks in general) are vastly improved from Fallout 4. The map is well designed and fun to explore. The photo mode is bomb as ♥♥♥♥, and I love that the photos you take become your loading screen images, encouraged me to spend time taking artsy photos of the Wasteland lol.

My criticisms are as follows: the vanilla main quest is pretty disappointing. Mostly just fetch quests and listening to audio logs. Wasn't excruciating because I broke it up with the more interesting side content to keep me going, but pretty lame regardless.

The weapons are tied to a specific level and can't be upgraded, you simply have to pick up a new weapon as soon as you outgrow the old one. On the one hand, new cool weapons are easy to come by, but on the other hand, I don't like that it essentially forces you to move on from ones you like.

There is really no endgame outside of base building, or if there is, it's not explained at all. The process of getting nukes is also highly annoying and badly explained, and they're really not worth the payoff.

Anyways, if you're a big Fallout fan and willing to put up with some minor annoyances, you'll definitely have fun with this game, even solo. I know I did.

I never get tired of playing this game. I've finished the campaign at least 4 times, maybe 5, and I have played hundreds of hours of multiplayer across Xbox One and PC. The campaign is amazing, a masterclass in level design. The characters are likeable and the story is a lot of fun.

The multiplayer is bonkers fun. The trailers aren't at all misleading; it's truly as badass as it looks and makes you feel like a pro whenever you pull off something cool. The new hero Titans have awesome designs and overall the color palette improved a lot from TTF1. This game is amazing. GOTY 2016, one of the best games I've ever played, and one of the most underrated shooters of all time. Please Respawn, give us Titanfall 3!

Every Halo game has minor flaws or falters on things that the previous game did better. Halo 3 may have tiny, nitpicky flaws, but it doubled down on everything Halo 2 did well and went above and beyond in perfecting the Halo formula. The campaign, multiplayer, and Forge are all something very special. This was probably, objectively speaking, the last GREAT Halo. I love all the Halo games, including the new ones, but the new ones do have bigger flaws that are hard to ignore. Halo 3 just feels like peak Halo. Bungie knew exactly what they were setting out to do with this game and they created one of the most well-crafted video games of all time. Halo 3 is a masterpiece. Despite some minor flaws, Halo 2 was a huge step forward for Halo and for shooters in general. Watch my full review to hear more thoughts!
