A good, if relatively simplistic RPG. If you like previous Bethesda open-world titles you will like Starfield. My biggest gripes are with the fact that most of the QOL changes that came to the creation engine through later updates to Fallout 76 did not get added to Starfield, which makes the whole experience just a little bit clunkier. Not everything needs an animation, especially if it's something you do hundreds of times and can't do anything else while the animation is playing.

It's a decent game, but requires a ludicrous time commitment in order to play properly. There is no taking breaks from Rust, as your base will deteriorate and you will lose progress. I enjoyed it thoroughly back before the blueprint system, but now it's just too much of a grind for too little fun.

I bought this for 6 bucks and I still feel ripped off. Terrible controls that aren't really explained, horrible camera controls, and no button remapping ruined the experience for me. I can't even comment on the actual substance of the game because it was so difficult to understand how to do things.

Difficult puzzle solving with a heaping helping of existentialism added to the mix. None of the mechanics felt unfair or contrived, although I didn't play the dlc or attempt to get any of the stars. I'm not great a puzzle games so I had to look a lot of stuff up but it's really solid.

If you liked any of the previous Fallouts (not so sure about the 2D ones), you'll love this one. The factions all feel very fleshed out, barring the Minutemen, but I suppose that's more due to Preston Garvey's VA's lackluster performance than anything. The plot is amazing if you care about the franchise as a whole, like me, but if this is your first foray into post-nuclear America, then I would say that starting here is a good introduction.
The introduction of legendary weapons (vs just the simple unique ones with special effects of the past) allows for a large amount of wiggle room in terms of builds. I only wish we could have had power armor legendaries. The power armor is very much what the developers had intended it to be for the original games: a tank that can be operated by one person at a cost of dexterity and complex movement.
The settlement system, however feels unfinished and frustrating to use. For something that is obviously intended to take up a large part of the gameplay loop, placing items in workshops just doesn't feel quite right.
Overall, the whole game feels very balanced and the weapons feel like they do enough damage, but not too much to not make sense. Personally, in terms of personal enjoyment and replayability, I got more out of it than Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 3, so my personal opinion would be around a 9/10. Objectively, however, the game would be closer to an 8 or 8.5. I would pick it up when it's on sale, though it was definitely worth the $60 I paid on launch.

I played for ~150 hours, got to level 127 and stopped after a few months after release. Although it wasn’t good, per se, the progression system was rewarding at times. What saved the game from me just not wanting to play it was 1) the lore and worldbuilding surrounding West Virginia was top notch, even though you had to look for it and 2) At a certain point the perks made you feel like an unkillable god. Perks were the coolest part of the game and coming back to Wastelanders now I’m happy at the progress on the story and stuff, but I’m disappointed in the lack of other ways to play. The balance of power armor vs no power armor seems much more reasonable now IMO, instead of the OP stealth builds with legendaries or the indestructible tank builds with PA at launch. Despite all its issues, 76 is still very much one of my favorite games and I would recommend playing it if you liked things like Destiny or other shooter MMOs. I would NOT recommend this to diehard fallout fans unless they are super into the lore (like me). Hope this helps!
