I'll get back to you on that as soon as I get back.
The graphics are dated, and does not look as good as Scratches. However, I believe they are good enough to not be too much of a distraction.
The main problem, to me, is the very poor voice acting and dialogue. If you get and play the game, maybe be aware of that problem and write it off as a campy B movie.
I still believe it has a great story and has the potential to draw you in with the serial killer plot. I turned off the music at the beginning, so maybe turning it on will help more with the atmosphere (note to self - turn on music).
There are a good amount of puzzles, so be prepared to use a walkthrough if you find yourself stuck. My revised score for the game: 3.5 stars out of 5 stars... Best wishes!
On the Black Mesa website's download page, do NOT click on any BIG download buttons (takes you to sponsor sites that try to put useless crap on your computer). Choose a website from the Global list. I used GameFront and it worked great.
The first step is downloading a free file on Steam. Go to the "LIBRARY" section, click "ALL GAMES", select "Tools", and download the "Source SDK Base 2007" file.
At GameFront, download the Installer and Archive files. The website says to download a MD5 file (used for checking data loss of downloaded files). I was unable to download the MD5 file and it is not needed to play the game. The Archive file is 3GB and took an hour to download with my fast internet speed. Also at the GameFront website, read the section "Black Mesa Installation Troubleshooting Tips".
