This is a very satisfying time sink game with some elements of an actual "obsession" type strategy game but it does fall short on available min/maxing. That said, i do not think that was the developers intention with the game - i think its more about having a sandbox style strategy arc that tries to challenge you as long as you are willing to challenge yourself. What I mean by that is you start a run saying "I want to make the rat good" or "this run will be centered on library upgrades" rather than "big number get big" every single round.

The developer has the value for 10-15 dollar locked away early on in EA before there were even 9 kings. Since then, they have released an additional king, cards, rogue-lite upgrades and a whole-ass extra game mode centered on puzzling. It also seems a multiplayer function is intended.

If you enjoy auto-battlers and achievement hunting for achievement huntings sake this game is a slam dunk. If you like strategy and challenging yourself this game is likely a good buy. If you want to be able to log in and waste some time with a puzzle for half an hour, this game is for you. If you want to become #1GM on WoWLords.com for best build ever than this game is likely not going to scratch that itch.

This game is not good. I am unsure if there is some meme-pump here happening that I am unaware of. I bought the game as I fell victim to the reviews about it's playability and fun. It is no such thing. You walk around with automated weapons that are too weak to get any real progression without a multi-die roguelike system. You spend gold to upgrade your base characters for future runs and it takes 1.5 runs to unlock a single point in most upgrades.
