Ever since playing Balatro, I tried to find a roguelike game for coin pushers, knowing it will be as enjoyable, and now it's here! I've been having a blast!

Early Access Review
It's way more stable than VALOFE's versions, but they still got a lot of work to do on this Early Access.
I do hope O2Jam and Warak would reach a good settlement/agreement on the song rights, as his songs are fantastic and I wish it won't have to be removed from the Steam version of the game.

It reminds me of those classic singleplayer games on PC, where you wouldn't even notice that you've been playing for hours on what you thought was only 30 minutes

If you want a little extra on the difficulty, while keeping high quality charts and visuals across the entire songlist, or just taking a break from grinding other rhythm games, EZ2ON always gives that nice breath of fresh air. (Literally, because the late SHIKI's song AIR is in this game.)

Early Access Review
Since the game is still in Early Access, I would forgive the small song line-up for now.
The UI is generally clean, which is great. However, I would like to suggest a few improvements:
- Disable/enable options for note column lines.
- Key input lighting (a.k.a. Keybeam) brightness options, as it does hinder visibility sometimes.
- In Survival Mode, during the Survival Time, show EARLY/LATE display in regular BRILLIANT hits.
- Add Screen Resolution options smaller than 1280x720 for low-end PC users. At least around 1066x600 or 1024x576 would be enough.
- (Optional) Implement an Dynamic Note Speed option. Example, if I set my Note Speed to 5.0 on a BPM 150 song, make it so that it automatically adjusts the Note Speed to 6.0 on a BPM 125 song (150 x 5.0 = 750, so 125 x 6.0 = 750)

Quality of note patterns mostly good, some are okay, but I look forward to more creative ones in the future.

Things are in a good direction for this game. Good luck, M2U and SINKER SIX!

For those who wants the Clear Pass for the aesthetics, or wanted to play the Clear Pass Premium Song right now, I recommend it. Otherwise, you probably don't need it.

For those who still spams "locking songs behind a premium pass = no", they announced it on a livestream (see www.youtube.com/live/appAzVpRnqA?si=q8c7_RJkd_4NNd3u&t=3363 ) that the Season 10 Premium Song will become available as a free song by Season 13, and future Season Premium songs will eventually become free songs three seasons after its release. If you ask me, waiting for around a year for this song to be accessible to everyone is too long, but then again, other rhythm games such as beatmania IIDX do this to their event songs as well.

While I do think locking songs behind a premium pass fortunately isn't a thing (if said announcement above remains true throughout the DJMAX's lifetime), I still think that there should be a way to purchase emoticons, combo designs, judgment designs, noteskins, and gearskins from previous seasons.

Season 1 has passed, and I am now reviewing this game as of Season 2:
- Most of the complaints regarding performance and sync issues at launch are resolved, but there are still sudden network disconnections from time to time (thanks, GameGuard).
- The song slowdown bugs are pretty much gone now, but some may still experience frame drops on certain occasions, but the sync remains the same when you start the song.
- In 5KEY and 7KEY mode, the middle lane of notes are now yellow, which is great. However, there is yet an option to play in the classic 2D layout.
- Ranking mechanics still depend on the amount of songs you played, so players who buys song packs are at an advantage, which I think is very unfair, considering the song packs STILL EXPIRE after certain period of days.
- Multiplayer is not yet available as of Season 2. The very "multiplayer" thing in the game is just the high score/ranking system. Matchmaking/head-to-head gameplay is probably in the works, but knowing it is based on the old Mobile version, I would guess it will be a 2-player multiplayer mode with Random song selection. Developers, please prove me wrong.

Again, there is still SO MUCH ROOM for improvement in the future. As much as I want to support O2Jam (the IP/game franchise), it is best not to waste your money until a lot of the quality-of-life changes are made.
I would not recommend it now, and do not expect high quality gameplay, as the game is still pretty much stuck in the late 2000s in terms of quality. Only enjoy what makes it as a free-to-play rhythm game.

It's a pretty well made rhythm game. The multiplayer side is the best one for me.
