It's a fine game, but it didn't really impact me the way it seems to have impacted others. Spoilers below (there isn't much to spoil)

You spend the entire game in a small submarine cell and pretty much the only gameplay is blindly navigating on an x/y axis stopping occasionally to take pictures of points of interest and check your map to make sure you don't run into anything.

The audio is cool but it was not enough to keep me on edge and the game ultimately culminates in a final 2 second jumpscare.

Outside of that there is more lore you can get if you sit and type at the terminal inside your sub that give you a bit more context to the world but its not all that engaging in my opinion and I would recommend watching a lets play as I don't feel like there is much more to gain from the experience by playing it yourself.

It isn't a bad game and it is an interesting concept, I just don't recommend it

Horribly optimized, completely bricks if you so much as change the resolution and runs in the choppiest 30fps I have ever experienced.

What's worse is it didnt use to be like this, I am picking it up to continue my save file with 20-30 hours and the game is legit unplayable now for some reason. Extremely frustrating and I am definitely not paying 40 dollars for the same damn game just to finish the experience

They have once again crafted an interesting story and coupled it with abysmal gameplay.

It's a marked improvement in basically every aspect over the first in this reboot series but somehow still feels just absolutely awful to play a significant portion of the time. It has shooting elements that are unsatisfying, it has stealth elements that are surface level and incredibly simplistic/easy,

But holy mother of god, the platforming in this game is absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ atrocious. So much so that it just completely ruins any enjoyment I may have otherwise gotten out of it. I am playing on the hardest difficulty (it only saves when you sit at a campfire) and it is genuinely not even a challenge outside of the platforming being non functional 80% of the time. Most of my deaths come exclusively from Lara just not attaching to whatever scripted animation she is supposed to when climbing or jumping

The voice acting is great, but every character and their mom obsessively records audio logs so that the game can consistently exposition dump you as you make your way from one clunky game section to another. Lara is a great protagonist and I enjoy how they progressed her from being super whiny/perpetually hurt from the first game into more of a badass with a lot more confidence this game but my god the gameplay is just not it.

They have also yet again tagged on a meaningless, barely functional online mode that absolutely no one asked for and tied half of the game's achievements to it, which makes 100% completion essentially impossible.

Overall, it is an improvement but still so so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ frustrating.

I wish I could leave an in between with recommended and not recommended.

This is a cool reimagining of one of the first video game series I ever played. It definitely shows it's age with gameplay and I would say it has aged VERY poorly honestly so I can't really recommend it in 2026, but if you are interested in Tomb Raider as a series then it is a fun playthrough ultimately

I don't really love how gore/jumpscare/horror focused it is but its done well enough that I don't mind, and I do enjoy how the story resolves.

The achievements tied to a basically empty/unusable and frankly outright ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ online mode are really frustrating and unfortunate but it at least gave me practice in not caring about always having to 100% a game. Not sure why this mode was even included in the game in the first place but it can ignored so oh well I suppose. I like achievement hunting though so this is a big sticking point for me.

It is also really QTE heavy and I just don't feel like that is a good gameplay loop. Movement is also really really rough, there's no sprint so you are basically half limping with a super shaky camera all the time even if you aren't actively in combat which makes revisiting areas/levels cumbersome but the game does have an interesting enough story to overcome that.

Really just comes down to how interested you are in playing the game yourself or getting up to speed with the story via YouTube and playing the newer more polished entries.

Splitgate is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ back yall, this is now legitimately the game that myself and so many OGs were hoping a sequel would be.

Great animation, great graphics, great performance, the return of OG maps, it’s so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fun and buttery

delightful little platformer collectathon with good humor and a unique interesting world. doesn't overstay its welcome and has a great soundtrack. highly recommend

I am going to complete it because I generally try to 100% games but it is honestly just so boring.

The world is empty and lifeless.
The gameplay is overly simplistic and there's no depth to any of it.
The art style is cool (I generally like cel shaded stuff) but everything is just super low poly count copy and paste

Strikes me as a student project where someone was learning Unity, I wouldn't recommend paying any amount of money for it

There is quite simply no other game out there that captures the pure adrenaline and hype of this game. The Finals might be hands down the single greatest FPS of this generation...

When everything clicks, the experience is unmatched.

You can be standing in the middle of Las Vegas back to back with your teammates fending off 2 teams from each side like you're the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Avengers.

You can sprint cross map in a last ditch effort to steal the cashout back and clutch the game as the building collapses and fire reigns down.

You can bonk people with a giant spoon, stab them with dual swords, shred them with throwing knives, blast them with a shotgun, all while dressed in froggy pajamas.

You can cloak, you can grab people with a giant metal claw, you can heal your buddies, you can phase through walls, grapple across map. The possibilities, the combinations... they are endless.

There is no shooter more dynamic and hype when things are clicking. Is it perfect? No, but it's damn close and ♥♥♥♥ if I don't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love it.

I was going to recommend this game but then Ubisoft Connect auto linked the license to an outdated account that is attached to an email I no longer use instead of my actual current account. So now I am completely unable to boot a game I paid money for all because Ubisoft refuses to drop their stupid third party launcher/account ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I luckily 100%'d before this became a major issue but I will never recommend a game from this publisher again until the fix this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
