A good digital implementation of Aeon's End. It works well and speeds up gameplay in good ways. It is a convinient and relaxing way of playing a non-relaxing game of Aeon's End where I don't have to do the setup prior to each game and can test out some sometimes more inconsistent setups.

With now over 200h on just the digital version, I can highly recommend it to anyone who are either new to Aeon's End or returning players who are looking for a smoother digital variant.

There are some minor ruling inconsistencies and a few niche bugs, but the developers have been good at responding to comments and fixing them over time. Some Nemeses have a slightly confusing display, such as Carapace Queen and Blight Lord, but is otherwise pretty good.

This game is great! From a story perspective that is... when it comes to the actual gameplay, it felt uninteresting and very easy. But don't let that hold you back from playing it, the story is really great, well set up and executed, but don't think of it as playing an intense life deciding game.

Personally, I played it with my girlfriend, arguing what choises to make through the game, which usually was rather easy to agree on. We found the game very suitable for doing so in this way, as it felt like a immersive experience that was fitting to share with each other. I would mainly recommend the game as an experience that can be compared to that of a movie, reading a book, a book where it gives you options to choose the path to go down, if you have tried those.

To conclude, the game is strong when it comes to story, it is fitting to share with your pals and family, as if it was a movie, but it is not interesting when it comes to its mechanics. The mechanics are however suitable and they are not bad. Repeatability is low, but the feeling of a shared experience it can give makes up for this.
