A story that you will resonate with regardless if you want to or not and there is no right or wrong for it is up to you on how you want to interpret this canvas.

On that note, I'm sure plenty of other reviews have already gushed about how this game is GOTY material and that they bought the deluxe upgrade to show more support and that they didn't know a game came with the music. ABSOLUTE CINEMA etc

So instead I will talk about the balancing. The game grants you access to break the damage cap for Act III but honestly the enemies are not scaled to handle that. I understand the reasoning for it as you basically have access to every side content and you would just take off the pictos whilst engaging the story bosses. But for anyone playing for the first time without any spoilers, they wouldn't know about this.

Recently a new update came out to help beef up the enemies by either limiting your damage cap and/or raising the max hp which I can see being very useful for NG+ and for anyone who hasn't challenged the final bosses. Which is great as there is now a means to add a bit more challenge and can be interesting for people looking to do challenge runs.

P.S if for some reason you are reading reviews and spoiling yourself, for the final boss, remove the damage cap pictos and modify the hp by at least x2, this will at least give the boss and yourself a fighting chance to enjoy a fight.

P.P.S Verso without hesitation and Clea is best sister.

Review was made after finishing the DLC on both NG and NG+2
TLDR: Recommend for players who already enjoy the base game a lot and want an added experience and story. Also recommended to enter the DLC area upon gaining access to fully experience the changes the DLC does to the present(base game)

The DLC is very much beautiful as it is fun and adds on a lot to the story which is always welcoming. The little details and interactions that happen if you have certain items or equipment from the base game has one upped in the DLC and it does not disappoint in this aspect.

While it is hard to recommend the DLC with its current price to value ratio, only adding 4 major bosses, multiple mini bosses, 3 new boss weapons, 2 boss amulets and other items. Being an area only accessible at chapter 9, while is a choice related to story telling, is still quite saddening as players who want to run the game with DLC weapons would only have a few chapters left unless they start a NG+ run with said weapons. I would still recommend the DLC as it adds to the whole experience and if you already love the base game, but if you are on the fence, get it on sale.

With both runs done of NG and NG+2, the scaling difference is as expected. Normal enemies that would barely scratch you in NG will kill you in 2 hits in NG+2. Nothing new as it is also the same in the base game. Only difference is the amount of enemies in certain locations make it just a run and gun or bow in this case since they do give you a range weapon specifically for the DLC.

Fun short tycoon sim (15ish hours? give or take to finish, ++time based on achievement hunting and bugs)
Devs are still churning out patches to fix the bugs which is nice rather than just leaving it as the mess as it is.
Overall would recommend but to wait for sale.

Assuming the player-base isn't cheating, you can see just how addicted the players are by the achievement completion rate.

"If you told me FromSoftware made this game, I would believe it."

Lies of P is an amazing take on the Souls genre which while may not diverge from the formula as compared to Nioh, does well in its own right. Unlike other games in the souls genre, Lies of P is completely linear from start to finish, there is no optional area or boss. The story is pretty straightforward going from one area to another, beating the bosses of that specific area. There are however, missable side stories that one can miss due to not exploring or choosing the right option.

Gameplay wise, the game encourages a playstyle like Sekiro where parry is king but leaves the usual run & gun option viable for players. The game also encourages new game+ runs where not only do you unlock new abilities (Up to new game+2 for P-Organ 7), better variation of equipment (+1 / +2 variants) and small lore tidbits for puppet boss fights.

As someone who has played the game through its different patches (on my last ending run as of this review), I am very happy to see Neowiz take charge of the criticisms and suggestions given by the players.
Overall Neowiz did a very good job on their first take on the genre and I look forward to the upcoming DLCs planned for the game.

If you liked the original, you'll love this HD Remaster.

While not given the same treatment as FF7R, this HD Remaster is still given plenty of love.
Outside of the graphics, there are plenty of QOL changes that has helped alleviate the many problems the original had. Some examples being skippable cutscenes, instantly retry missions, sprinting and more.
The game's core combat system has also been slightly tweaked, maintaining the core mechanics(pachinko DMW is still here to stay) while freshening it up a little.
Another nice touch that this version has given is the fact that every cutscene is now voiced, removing the weird cuts between voiced cutscenes and plain text the original had.
For those who enjoys challenges, you'll be happy to find out that Minerva now has 77,777,777 HP on hard as compared to 20,000,000 HP on the original and her moveset has been tweaked.

For the people that didn't play or hated the original, is this game for you?
I would recommend watching someone go through the game or just watch a cutscene video instead.
This game is very hit or miss as with the original, plenty have gripes on the story, va, combat, etc.
Thus if you are someone who has not played the original, I would recommend watching someone else play it first.
If it is not your cup of tea, I would still recommend watching a cutscene video if you are planning to play FF7Rebirth to get the backstory.
And for those who hated the original, depending on your reasons(e.g Combat), this game may still not be it for you.

Overall, this game is a nice love letter to those who enjoyed the original game and have waited so long for a port of some kind.

Even after all these years, it gets updated.
Hell there's still a sizable public playerbase if you don't have friends to play with.

The synopsis of the game says it all. A game with a unique combat system that can be unforgiving and a chilling story.
While it's one of the few rougelikes that I didn't put a lot of hours in, it is definitely one I enjoy and go back to from time to time. As with some rougelikes, 1 run in this game can last as long as an hour or as short as 5 mins depending on how you play.

Somehow I now have this many hours, logging in daily twice a day for less than an hour usually. Wow.

DOAXVV, while not as fleshed out(?) as maybe the other Xtreme games in the series, does its job nicely with fun stories per event and bunch of CGs. (which if you couldn't unlock can be found online)

As of writing, game costs 3.25 and currently 8.5 hrs in.
Absolutely lovely game with devs that have a sense of humor.
Looking forward to updates and more interesting combinations.
