Got roped into doing this mundane, incredibly boring DLC quesst when speaking with Theresa - the game gave zero warning that I would be starting up a 3 hour DLC quest. Everything about this DLC is horrible - it made me do some of the worst fetch quests I have seen. While it was somewhat interesting to see the events of Act 1 through Theresa's perspective, it simply could have been more dialog focused. Almost made want to quit playing.

it's shocking how the performance & stability of this game continue to decline. Endless loading screens compiling shaders, micro stutters, and piss poor fps - my friend with a 3070 can't get 60fps even on the lowest settings meanwhile he can get above 60fps in Battlefield 6 using High graphics settings.

2K need to get it together because they are losing their playerbase fast, though the CEO Randy basically told everyone who was having performance issues to "get a better PC lul", so I guess they don't care.

Thumbs down for me until they fix these issues.

This is a solid game overall. It looks great, and the visuals are definitely one of its strongest points. The combat is where it really shines — adding dodge and parry mechanics to a turn-based system makes fights feel fun and engaging.

The story is pretty good and kept me interested throughout my playtime. My only real complaint is that the game doesn’t do a great job of warning you when you’re under-leveled for certain areas, so sometimes you find out the hard way.

That said, I still recommend if you enjoy turn-based games with a bit more action mixed in.

Solid game. Solid launch. No battlepass or micro-transactions. This is the standard all AAA companies should follow.

The storytelling in this game is great and the gameplay is pretty fun.

However the open world is filled with side content that is very repetitive and boring. After reaching the first area you can clearly see what the gameplay loop is for each area in the game: complete side quests, find the regional protorelic, climb towers to uncover POI on your map, fight boss battles, run around & chase Moogles, rinse & repeat. This makes up for around 70+ hours of play time.

The main story is also bloated with too many mini-games. After the 3rd area i decided to just focus on the side quests and main story but even then my progress was gated by my open world exploration progress which was extremely frustrating.

If you'd like to play this game for the story, just stick to focusing on the main story. I really hope the sequel improves upon the open world design because Rebirth's open world is designed for extreme burnout.

Overwatch could never. Game is fun to play and there is no predatory monetization.

Arrowhead can't seem to figure out how to keep their game stable for the long term. At the time of writing this review, the recent update seems to have introduced the same stability issues from last year that made the game unplayable.

I constantly get lag spikes due to high CPU Usage, and my entire PC eventually freezes where it requires a forced restart of my PC (which is incredibly bad for your hardware).

My specs are:
5070ti
Ryzen 5700X3D
32GB RAM

There is no reason why I should be getting constant performance issues playing this game when I can run Bf6 on Ultra without any issues.
