The game is great. Mechanics are all so fun. Art style is very charming. The sound track is easily my favorite of any video game.

Assetto Corsa and iRacing are the gold standard of racing sims. This is a great game to get along with your first steering wheel. There is a massive modding community that is still active ~10 years after the game's release.

Also, You probably won't like it if you're just using an Xbox controller. A wheel and pedal set up is really the only way to play.

Overall I think this is a good game. DOS EE is a game that's core mechanic is really about exploring. The quest system only really records what you have previously done rather than telling you where you need to go next. At the beginning of the game, I really had to grind through the first 10 hours because I was confused as to what I was supposed to be doing. Once you learn that when you are stuck, you gotta explore somewhere else the game progresses much smoother.

The combat mechanics are clearly meant to emulate pen and paper RPGs. Overall I think that the combat is fine but like D&D the combat mechanic would kind of suck without the story to motivate it. RNG can be a lot of fun and it can also be absurdly annoying when you are missing 80% chance hits several times in a row right at the worst possible time (♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Bairdotr, I swear to God....). Also much like pen and paper games, there are many diverse classes to choose from each with their own fun abilities. You can get into tweaking and perfecting builds as much as you want or you can use the big sword you just found because it has flames on it and that is also a valid way of playing.

The roleplaying aspect of it is clearly geared towards having someone else playing with you. Your two main characters often come across situations that trigger dialogue between the two of them and you kind of just feel like you are talking to yourself. I think you can assign personality AI to negate that awkward situation where you are essentially just saying "Yes, let's go kill the bad guy. He is bad." twice.

There are a few NPCs that you can have join your party and each has their own personal vendetta quest which ties into the story very well and makes you really invested in the characters that have tagged along with you.

Ok the worst ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ part of this game is that all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ NPC only have like three lines that they repeat over and OVER AND OVER. So if you are sitting in the market area doing inventory management (which you WILL do) you are forced to listen to the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cheese sales-man next to you saying "NOT IN THE MOOD FOR CHEESE? THAT EXCUSE HAS MORE HOLES THAN A FINE [name of cheese]." about twenty times in a row. (don't tell me you can turn the character voice volumes off, I don't like reading. Plus the voice acting for the main story helps develop the characters in my opinion). On the flip side, there is a lot of witty humor that is quite charming without trying to make it a "funny video game." You know what I'm talking about.

The story is good. It is super high-fantasy non-sense but it is a good kind of non-sense that is actually pretty original in many regards. It is just enough to make you want to kill the bad guys and save the good guys, which is really all you can ask for.

In conclusion, whacking bad guys with the newest sword you found in the corpse of a different bad guy is fun. It is a long ass game (it took me 110 hours) but there is decent content the whole way through and by the end, you won't feel like you wasted your time.

Good game.

It is definetly not a perfect game by any means. The combat system is one of the strangest I have ever seen in a game of this kind but you get used to it after a bit. I think the strongest aspect of the combat system is the (let's call them) stances. It ads a bit of strategy into the fighting that was definetly needed. The progression is pretty good. There are many different areas that you can choose to focus on and master. This means many different ways to play the game which is always pretty fun.

The opening first chapter of the game is not the most compelling but it is a good way to ease yourself into the world and how it works. It picks up after the first area. So I would say if you are feeling like "eh it's alright" stick with it and it gets much more interesting.

The strongest part of this game is by far the story telling. Geralt is a loveable stubborn ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ who recently lost his memory and is trying to piece together the fragments of his past. Also there are a bunch of mean salamanders that are bigger ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. ♥♥♥♥ those guys honestly. There are so many key choices in this game that greatly affect Geralt's journey through the world of The Witcher. Additionally, the way that the relationships and choices you make stick with you are affect things all the way to the end is incredible and culminates in a very powerful and thoughtful ending.

If you like a game with a compelling story, then play this game and then the next two.

It looks cool but lacks a lot of depth for it to hold my attention for that long.

I know it kind of looks cool but its really not all that speacial. This whole not-minecraft survival genre kind of sucks like lets be real. This game is really not giving you anything that you couldn't find in any other survival game other than there are dinosaurs. The dino mechanics are ok at best. You have to beat the living ♥♥♥♥ out of a dino to tame it which makes you feel incredibly conflicted.

Overall: Meh

This used to be so good. Now loot boxes control 100% of the game's progression. The teir system was a lot better. It's not unplayable in it's current state but it was a lot better. There are some features that have been implimented that are improvement like switching between types of weapons, or the meelee weapons are really cool. It's free so I'd say it's worth checking out, especially if they fix it.

The level of detail is amazing and there are a bunch of mods that fix a lot of the nit picky kind of problems that i have with it. This game might be too much fun.
