Lol, it's cool, man. I trust you. I will check it out sometime :) Thanks again for taking the time to inform me, that's very kind of you :)
Lol, yep, that appears to be good advice. It appears that single player is something they should have had from the start.
That's no bother at all, my friend! :) It's very kind of you to think to let me know. I'd totally forgotten about that game, so I'll check it out again and try to remember why I was interested in a single player version, lol! Thanks again for taking the time to get in touch - I appreciate it :)
I don't remember leaving such a comment. The fact your profile is private makes me think this is maybe just a spam post? Why would you remember such a comment from years ago, then think to come to my profile years later to let me know, other than it being spam? :)
So, you're half right :)

Hiya :)
Thanks for clarifying. Yep, I've done that before too.
Glad you liked the game - it's certainly one of the best games ever :)
Very best wishes!
Thanks for commenting on my review. I have to clarify what you pointed out which I should have seen coming. I played the game via other means back when I couldn't afford it. I played it for an unknown amount of weeks back around when it was released because I remember the hype/talk about the game.
Now that I can afford it, I have aimed to buy every game I played thru other means to support the developers.
Thanks,
Ed
Haha, I certainly know that "annoyed" feeling in NMS. I actually preferred the game years ago, when it felt very "empty". I liked how there was not much in space. Now, with aliens, ships, base building, etc - it's lost the concept of exploring a vast, more realistic universe.
Prey did crash for me a few times, but it didn't happen enough that it got frustrating, and the good points far outweigh any negatives. It sounds like you should enjoy the game. If you like the idea of exploring an alien-infested space station, complimented by great sound, level design and story, then it should be a worthwhile purchase for you. The deluxe edition gives you Mooncrash too, which is a nice addition, and a real challenge to complete it entirely. Have fun! :)
Let's hope the game isn't that prone to crash as the forums are telling me.
I'm playing NMS again after a longer break, because I got my hands on a capital S class freighter lately (after finishing the latest expedition).
But everytime I've opened up like 4-5 chest i get annoyed by the stupid camera movement, everytime I need to talk to some alien i get annoyed by that stupid long dialog before I have access to his shop, everytime I'm entering a new system i get annoyed by either sentinel drone or by pirate scans - and then I get even more annoyed by that horrible procedural (or is it experimental) music.
Then I'm landing on my new freighter, trying to expand the base and get annoyed by the terrible sound effects ... and quit the game until I want to get annoyed again
Yep, I'm thinking about uninstalling NMS, as these frequent, large updates are getting a bit ridiculous. I know a lot of people feel that NMS redeemed itself, but I'm not really a big fan of it.
That's great that you're going to have a go at Prey :) I might be a bit biased, as I'm a massive fan of the movie Aliens, and Prey has a similar vibe. Hopefully you'll get many hours of enjoyment from it :)
and my next game to play is prolly Prey - thanks to your review (and it's just 10 bucks). Still busy with NMS & Kenshi at the moment
Thx for checking out.
The NMS update was for fixing multiplayer & the anomaly, it was either empty or crashed for a lot of people (reddit). So again the steam update is much bigger than the one on GoG, no issue with 10 MB vs 44 MB, but how about the next big one, like 4.00? :)
He was on your profile too? Seeing as you and I don't know each other either, he must have seen your profile via mine. Too much of a coincidence there. I don't mind conversing with people like that, up to a point... until it starts to get stalker-ish :)
I can see why a lot of people are not fans of Days Gone, but the points he made don't really make too much sense. The negative things about Days Gone are actually more like annoying bugs than intrinsic design flaws.
I just checked, and confirm the latest NMS update is indeed 44 MB.
Anyway, just want to note: the latest NMS update (3.99.1) was 10 MB on GoG and according to steam forums, it was 44 MB here. Can you confirm?
P.S. You should really stop playing "Days Gone" because some unknown person doesn't like the game
Mate, I've no idea who you are or why you're so keen to express your displeasure at me being a fan of Days Gone :)
But, OK, let's try again...
So, now you're saying the AK takes TEN shots, not FIFTEEN, and from "far away"? How many shots do other guns take close up? More or less than this? (rhetorical)
The map's apparent size is not equivalent to "real life". When you played the game, you really felt that the bike was moving "slowly"? I think there might be something wrong with your graphics card :)
Gas does respawn... but not 30 seconds later.
"Did you just afk for 100 hours playing days gone?"
I've played the game through twice - including "Hard II" mode, defeating all hordes. I feel that allows me to have a fairly comprehensive experience of the game.
You're welcome to dislike the game. That's fine. But, as someone with many years of gaming experience and as someone that owns thousands of games, I feel that Days Gone is an excellent game. That's my opinion :)
The AK takes 10 shots to kill someone far away, do you need to review some gameplay, maybe you missed that on your playthrough.
Also the motorcycle travels extremely slow. If it takes 7 minutes to travel 2.2 K, do you know how fast that is? (11.06 miles/hour 17.8 kilometers/hour). Like are you just trying to come off as ignorant?
Gas does respawn 30 seconds later... Take a can off one of the tow trucks, drive 100 yards down the street and come back, it's restocked!
It's a pity so many reviewers like your self just promote garbage games to spur the studio to release more ports. Clearly you don't have any knowledge on the gameplay of days gone. The game has massive issues, and a lack luster cookie cutter story.
All the reviews state the game requires 40 hours in it before it 'opens up' to trival mechanic of hordes. WOWIE!
Lol, you really feel that strongly about me liking Days Gone? :)
It's always weird when a stranger takes so much offense to someone else enjoying something :)
Look, Days Gone is not a perfect game, and I made that very clear in my review. But, the points you bring up are a bit strange. This is a dystopian world where infrastructure has crumbled, and there's danger everywhere. Fast, relatively nimble, fuel efficient transport is what you would use.
Gas does not respawn every 30 seconds, motorcycles do not travel at 15mph and it doesn't take 15 shots to kill people. And, you should always play on the hardest difficulty you can cope with.
For all its flaws, Days Gone stands out for the excellent atmosphere. It creates a believable "zombie world", with truly nerve-wracking encounters. It's a pity you didn't enjoy it, but it seems yours is very much a minority opinion. Many people love Days Gone and are desperate for a sequel.
Why can't you damage a hazmat suit? Is there a force field preventing a hammer attack?
Why do ak's require 15 shots to kill a guy 30 meters away on Normal?
Why is there only motorcycles in this world.
Why bother with a motorcycle in this world.
Why bother with a crafting system if everything is so abundant.
Why does gas respawn 30 seconds after taking it.
Imagine putting this as a top 10, i really can't piece together the mental dissonance you must have.
Yep, Steam's idea of how to create a good community:
It's ok to post nonsense... just don't post anything that's critical :)
I once found a nonsense guide containing just a gif and no content at all. Checked the guy posted it and noticed he had 666 guides published and all i've checked had just a gif. Then i've checked 5 of his friends on top of his list ... all of them had also 666 guides containing a gif.
Another profile visit on him: 6666 random screenshots, 66 nonsense reviews, 666 artworks (same gif as in the guides).
No wonder you're seeing less and less useful reviews and guides, as steam doesn't seem to take action against this abuse.
All very good points. Some of the reviews on Steam are complete nonsense. Someone will post a one sentence "review" saying something like "meh, game sucks" and get 1000 upvotes. Someone else will post a in-depth, helpful review and get no recognition.
But, to me, it's the forums that are the worst thing about Steam. It's unusual to find a Steam forum where the moderators are doing a good job. There's rarely a friendly atmosphere, and aggression and rudeness are commonplace. Mostly, they are filled with fanboys that are ready to shout down newcomers.
Apart from the "community" side of things, I quite like having my games under the umbrella of Steam. I like the Steam client and there's often some good offers. It's just a pity about their policies regarding "chat" and "forums" :)
I didn't buy any game on steam since 2020 for a reason.
a) I don't like being forced to update a game when having steam in online mode - i want some control about what's going on.
b) If you deal out any (valid) criticism on the forum, being it in the games forum or about steam in general, you'll get a warning, your thread gets locked or removed. But posting nazi or rasism ♥♥♥♥, creating nazi or otherwise offending groups, posting nonsense guides and reviews is okay.
On the other hand, you're pretty much bound to steam with having +3500 games "allowed to use" here, so you don't want to lose that.
Very well said! :) You're completely correct - delta/incremental patches are either deliberately not used, or Hello Games doesn't know how to implement that system of updating. Either way, it's not great.
Having to frequently download 6 or 7 GB for a couple of minor cosmetic changes gets to be quite annoying, especially for people who don't have the fastest of connections. And to have threads deleted for even mentioning it, is just kind of typical of the majority of Steam forums :)
Thanks for your input and for the information - very interesting. Thanks! :)
As far i can tell, the update brought 2 new pieces for the freigter base, a staircase of glass and a inner wall. Nothing what's justifying a patch of +6 GB!
My guess is that on steam they've shipped all of the *.pak files that changed.
On GoG all files in the folder GAMEDATA\PCBANKS got patched (total size 12.2 GB) but the patch download was only 1.13 GB in size and the offline patch from 3.98 to 3.99 they're offering is also just 1.1 GB in size.
So either GoG has some magic patch procedure or on STEAM they don't care about patch file sizes - just like the people in your thread, which never heared anything of delta patching ;)
No problem - you're not pestering me :)
Yep, it was my thread that got deleted on the forum. That's actually twice that's happened when I mentioned something critical. On the No Man's Sky forum, most threads that are critical seem to get removed.
There's something strange regarding the way NMS delivers updates. Out of my 3500 games, NMS is by far the worst when it comes to constant, large updates that don't seem to deliver much actual content.
And that post got deleted or what?
Just want to inform you, that the same patch on GoG was only 1.13 GB in size, so it's very possible to deliver smaller patches!
Thanks very much, I appreciate your kind comment :)
I just checked out your own reviews - very comprehensive and professional. Great work :)
It can be a very tricky thing to discern someone's meaning during an online text conversation, especially when there is "humour" involved :) I always try to use simple emojis in pretty much all my conversations, so my meaning is very clear.
When the first pun/joke was made, if there had been a simple ":)" included, it might have indicated the tone a bit better.
Still, overall, there's no real harm done. You both vented at each other, and I'm sure you're both keen to put it all behind you now :)
(I didn't get the pun on the first post, but also him naming Luna specifically told me that this is someone who read your review, because of all the mods to open the pun up with, they chose luna? it's too coincidental.)
i guess casual is not how most people were seeing my tone though. my second post though saw them as a troll because they weren't really talking and just meming, so i stopped responding to them after that.
Ah, so that's where the problems started between you both. It does seem like he tried to make a joke, but it didn't go over too well with you. Could it be that it was a case of things escalating out of control over something rather minor? You both seemed to react rather strongly :)
From what I can tell, it seems that maybe there is a bit of an online "personality clash" between you. It might be better for both parties just to chalk it up to experience and move on? :)
What I think happened is, you post review and mention the moderators. I join in on the convo. Sometime later I make a thread about game "mods". I think he didn't like how we talked about the moderators, so joined my thread to fling some monkey poo. Him responding to your review later is proof that he at least knew about our convo.

Yep, I still think the moderator comes across as "not so great". You were right to speak to Brice, but as I have been saying, if the moderators were really good, Brice wouldn't have to keep dealing with these sorts of issues personally.
I'm hoping Brice will do these things:
1) Understand what is required in a good moderator.
2) Select better moderators.
3) Hire a community manager.
Ultimately, it shouldn't really bother me, as it isn't my game or server, but after I had the negative dealings with a few of the moderators, it really bugged me.
Thanks again for sharing your experience :)
I went ahead and took a better screenshot with with dev's response included. https://i.imgur.com/YhYMxLG.png
Disclaimer: I still cut out in-between conversations that were not related to the issue at hand, and as a reminder to others joining this convo; this isn't about the feedback for the game, but how the mod responded.
I've no problem with being aggressive back to people, once they show their true colours. You appear to have started off in a very polite manner, and had a very valid question. The moderator's response certainly appears to be very dismissive, warranting a "less than polite" response from you.
Normally, I'm not a fan of screenshotting, as it's always out of context. However, I can see from this that you have a very valid point (I actually agree with you), and that you were polite in your discourse.
The moderator, on the other hand, does indeed come across as patronising, unfriendly and unhelpful. If this were just a random player, there would be no issue - people are often that way. But, as you might have heard me say a few times (😀), moderators should be held to a higher standard, and this is probably indicative of their general unsuitability for the position.
I would say you were right to bring this to Brice's attention. Thanks for letting me know about this.
