This is a silly thing. It's not really a game but it's been fun to use it to 'hang out' w friends and meow to each other as we join, to do random emoji's back and forth, and the fireworks for the lunar new year is awesome when you have quite a few ppl doing it at once.

I did not catch it anywhere that this was only a 1st person game. Fair warning for those with motion sickness or the inability to handle the quick movements and constant movement - i didn't last 5 minutes before the symptoms starts and i've survived playing some other games.
There's also no tutorial or clear instructions prior to starting the dungeon. But like most games without it, it's fairly easy to pick up. I had been looking forward to this game but unless they offer an option for 3rd person, i won't be able to play it.
I will note here, looking it up. it's stated there isn't a 3rd person view bc of needing accuracy on attacks but... i manage to hit small hitboxes in 3rd person with no problem so i'm a little sus on the reasoning that was given.

Cons:
- 6 week wipe period (a lot lower then most other games but also a new game that has to push updates)
- no self or hosted server options
- max 7 ppl for hives (i get not wanting large groups for pvp but there's 8-11 of us that only play pve. would be nice to have a larger group or at least the ability to alliance hives to offset the small Hive numbers.)
- annoying Myth of Empire style perms: you have to set perms for individuals. This means even if you're in the same HIVE - there's no shared resources or spaces. It's all player specific. That's a bit annoying and frustrating when you're working together. Would rather the M.O.E. way of having ranks vs having to set for each person.
- even w a gaming rig - i'm lagging out. I assume it's more bc it's so new and things are still being worked on but could also be all the people building on the server and generating hellious lag

Pros:
- smooth gameplay. This has to be one of the smoothest shooter style fighting games
- easy vehicle handling
- weapon and action bar slotting
- play as slow/laid back as you want to speed run to the end of the current level
- easy to team up and go
- minimap!
- very nice tutorial that both teaches you gameplay, what to expect, and gives you that nice immersive lore
- easy way to map switch (not so easy to switch into a map w your friends if maps are full)
- speaking only from pve side, the community in general is freakin awesome. Most folks are patient and quick to answer questions or stop to help someone. That was pretty shocking for a public server.
- even if you don't pay for battlepass - you're not getting just basic things for the free slots, these are useful or even cosmetic items. And there's 2 tiers for battlepass - allowing you to support the game if you're able!
- it's free! Ok i'm adding this to pro's bc i've paid out for similar games and haven't had as much fun as i am on this one. If I had to pay for an addon to allow private hosting - i would in a heartbeat.

Everything I've been waiting for!
Pros: very balanced game play. you use all resources without 1 type stockpiling while you flounder for more. Even the most common resources will take some time to gather. Weather events mean something. Enough danger that when you're a vet at survival games - you're kept on your toes. Terrain control! This was pretty awesome to have. Struggling to find flat space to build on? Not anymore.
Cons: only up to 4 players. if hosting player DC's - everyone disconnects and both times, we've lost at least an hour's worth of work. Save often (which is an odd concept for live play but trust me, save often). Be prepared to mat farm and space out buildings. Some have rather large expansions that you're not aware of until it's too late, resulting in needing more resources to either build another or destroy and move.
In my group's opinion, the seasons move too fast. WE went from Spring to Summer by day 4. Barely enough time for 4 very seasoned survival gamers to get the basics of the buildings needed down. We hit summer before we knew it and scrambled to get the farm up and start prepping for harvest.
Very enjoyable game and well worth the wait. I'd honestly put this right beside Valheim.

From what I've seen in the 3 hours i've played, it has all the elements of my top survival games. At first I thought the UI felt clunky and over-complicated but as I got used to the controls, it became simpler to navigate and swapping in a couple of keybinds meant i was quickly getting to the menu I wanted. It did take me a hot minute to locate copper and figure out the leveling system but despite some of the reviews i've seen for this game, i'm hella happy w it.

My brother kept telling me I would enjoy this game but I kept saying eehh doesn't really seem like I would. I'm big into the survival sandboxes: Ark, Valheim, and Warhorn being my top 3. I remember watching Conan the Barbarian and just couldn't imagine the game world. I have regrets not getting this game sooner... In less then 48 hours I've fallen hardcore into this game and the lore. I really enjoy the Journeys as it adds a unique aspect that's lacking from most games: giving basic tutorials in a way that also boosts your skills higher AND keeps you fully immersed into the world.
The graphics were way better then I expected them to be. The gameplay is smooth. In the 48 hours and at level 41, my friend and I have come across a few bugs that according to search results: they're known bugs. They're minor annoyances but doesn't really affect the overall game (like the Greater Hyena bug). After the 1st 24 hours, we dove into the mod world and were impressed with what we found and have been fully enjoying the game.
The game's hard. You're going to die, a lot. You're going to struggle as you start out (esp if you're like us w no idea what we were walking into). You're going to run into creatures and npc's that will pretty much 1 hit you. Then struggle to retrieve your body. In the beginning, we ended up leaving our bodies a couple of times bc it was all basic stone tools and cheap mats/gear. As we've advanced and gotten better things, we die less but when we do - we want our bodies.
If you're reading this, you're debating on the game. If you like survival games, if you like the open sandbox style of building where ever you want, if you like lore, if you like open exploration - GET. THE. GAME.
And good luck.

This is adorable and so laid back, a nice change from the typical games. There's just enough challenges to keep you intrigued but laid back enough to keep it chill and calm.
The only downside which is player side - if you have motion sickness, you may want to take more then usual breaks. I haven't found a way to avoid it but the time I did play in it - this game is beyond breathtakingly beautiful and chill.
Normally you see cinematics and know the game play won't be like it but the videos here are identical to what you'll see and do.

Looked like a cute and relaxing game. Was not disappointed and I ended up gifting it to a few friends and getting a server. Since I've had it in the past 24 hours, 14 of those hours have been spent in the game (insomnia ftw for once). You can easily loose track of time as you explore and listen to the music. The skyrim level up sound cracks me up and one of the NPC's has a name of a beloved gw2 character (i'm sure it's coincidence but it was neat to see). The names of the NPc had us laughing. There's just enough fighting to keep the game engaging but not fully repetitive.
Pros:
For an early release - it's really stable.
Open world exploration with hidden things all around
the /unstuck will become a good friend (i have hit a few places that i've fallen or jumped into and was unable to get out and once upgraded a town building and got stuck under it when it built).
Plenty of resources but not an over abundance where it's too easy
while there's status bars - they do not run down quickly, allowing you to enjoy the game.
chests respawn - this has been a boon starting out and building a village. the spawns aren't a lot of items but they do help offset

Stunning night sky

NO DEATH PENALTY!

Cons
Not sure if this is game side or g-portal side (i've had servers thru gportal for years and none of my ark or valheim servers have given us issues) but it takes 3-5 log in attempts to connect. This is for everyone playing not just myself.

Some quests do not disappear when it's completed. We've had a delay in the quests registering finished and showing us where to go to next. I do have one that refuses to complete, even tho all checkmarks are green. I assume it's user error and there's another part but there's no lead in for it.

Enemies will spawn at your 'base' village. This one is a bit annoying and so far, I haven't been able to locate walls to place around but not sure if that'd stop the spawns or not. I am not referring to the night spawns but the spiders and regular enemies.

IMO you have nothing to lose trying out this game and everything to game. It gives a nice rounded open world survival game, allows you to play with friends (roleplay is an option w the in world chats), base build, explore nooks and crannies, has fun puzzles to challenge your minds, and it's not 30+GB for a game. Seriously, give it a shot. Steam has a refund policy for a reason. You have nothing to lose.

So far, our rag tag crew of 7 have been having interesting times. My husband has logged more hours then I but we’ve all been having the same experiences.
- great survival game. Tags saying hardest survival are completely accurate
- beautiful scenery
- easily able to conserve stamina by walking
- animals are animals. You’re able to skirt around them, outrun most of them they have consistent patterns for idle movements, hunting, chasing. If they see you… well good luck.
Some cons:
Fiber is easily seen but not easily resourced. I do wish it would be at least 2-3 per drop as they aren’t plentiful. Same w the other plants. Or even a random drop of 1-3. Something to help offset the scarcity
- hunters are both amazing if you’re able to kill them and horrible for those just starting out. We chose to turn off hunters until we have beds. We’re excited to go after them and they are great for resource harvesting but… you don’t bring an ax to a shootout. Those fookers have automatic rifles and a never ending supply of ammo. At best if you kill them, while those guns disappear, you do get a of shell casings, bandages, some food.
- base building will take some time. Work w your team. It’ll take All of you to hunt, gather, and build.
- the biggest downside is how small the tribes/teams are. 4 max that we’ve found. So far we have 2 bases and trying to invite ppl to have a semi split team. That’s my biggest issue w the game. The other is not having enough time to retrieve your body before the timer runs out. Even running and only slowing for stam recovery, you can't clear that map, kill what killed you or even sneak to your body in time. We've all experienced the pain of watching the timer run out just as we manage to get there.
If you enjoy survival games, base building, and exploration - get this. It’s hard. You’ll rage. You might cry over some loss. But it's still fun and there's a lot of pride that comes w succeeding. It does get easier as you start to get built up. We've had teammates on the server nearly round the clock and we've got a small cozy spot.
Don’t let the fact the game is still “alpha” after 7 yrs dissuade you. I learned this is created by a 1 man team (if intel is wrong please correct me). That itself is amazing that 1 person built the game around their rl. Kudos dude.

This really hit emotions and should come with a heavy spoiler tag for certain chapters. While I don't believe in catering to snowflakes, this game has a beautiful no holds barred approach, and has a very deep emotional pull and serious heavy triggers. If you are a victim of DA, I do caution you to avoid this game. If you want a game that is written and designed way ahead of it's time - what the hell are you waiting for?
cons:
The camera movement is.. the only real con i really have against the game. It's taken a bit to get used too and if you have any kind of motion sensitivity, good luck.
it is very very graphic/resource heavy. if you have an older pc, you may have trouble. I was crashing quite a bit after each chapter summary.
Pros:
Very in depth story driven storyline
Outside of the camera movement, very smooth controls.
Easy to grasp commands but complicated enough to leave a challenge
Every Action you take as a reaction on the story and characters
No holds barred approach - w/o giving spoilers away, anything goes. It's as real as the real world.
You will question every philosophical ideal you've ever had
Leaves you challenged and wanting more
