Definitely not a Carmageddon game in any shape or form.
I personally enjoy it aslong as I dont think of it as a Carmageddon game but it absolutely needs alot more content and improvements to remain interesting over a extended period of time.

My biggest main gripe at the moment are the driving mechanics. The choice of your car can heavily influence the enjoyment of the game as some cars drive fine and are fun to use while others drive like total garbage.
The physics are a big issue as your car sometimes for no reason at all just spins out or flips and bam you lost the race because of the physics being buggy. In a actual Carmageddon game that would be fine and no big issue but here the physics screwing you over can lead to a Game Over and having to restart the entire run. Not fun.

I think the track designs are fun especially since alot of the tracks allow you to drive along on the walls or even the ceilings but we just need alot more of them.

The game definitely needs more event types. So far you got your normal race with combat and a 2 lap survival. Thats it.
A introduction of a elimination mode where last place gets eliminated every couple of seconds along with a sorta deathmatch style of kill as many enemies as you can in a given amount of time. Or also a pure no weapons crashing only action event would already spice things up.

So overall its not bad aslong as you ignore the "Carmageddon" in the name but it definitely needs improvements and ALOT more content.

Also I know the game runs on Unreal Engine which is the gaming industry standard of garbage visuals in games but can we please have 8x MSAA or SSAA back? FXAA and especially TAA with its introduction of artificial motion blur and ghosting glitches look horrible and make the game look a hell of a lot worse than it actually does.

Very fun with many new and good additions of killer cars to keep you on your toes throughout the game.

Each area feels unique and distinct from one another and the theres multiple different experiments to do in each one.

The cars you get to drive can now be upgraded and ontop of that they also feel a lot better to drive than in JF2 so thats a plus.

Tho theres also some drawbacks. Compared to Junkyard Fury 1 and 2 the killer car AI is smarter and dumber at the same time.
-Smarter because they are alot better at predicting your movements and try to cut you off rather than just heading to where you currently are which is good.
-But dumber because they are quite bad at navigating around the environment making the game a whole lot easier than JF2 as they constantly get stuck on everything such as buildings, trees, piles of rubble, etc etc. You literally have to walk up to them and help them get outta that place they are stuck in.

Lastly in some rare instances both the killer cars and also your own car can get stuck inside objects such as trees forever making them unusable for the rest of the experiment.
Hope future issues fix those issues but overall its still a fun game.

I LOVE Blood and I love Nightdive n Monolith. They are delivering excellent things.

Atari and Warner Bros on the other hand can go f*ck themselves. Especially Atari.
Do not support these greedy business strats by buying this game. Even less so at full price.

Fantasticly fun kart racer. Definitely recommended.

Originally when I saw the gameplay videos the game looked kinda slow and eh. But now at release the gameplay is actually quite fast and the driving feels satisfying.
Lots of fun tracks, tons of vehicle customization options, many chars with unique dialogues and amusing rival lines to pick from, fun items to use in races and gadgets to further customize and tweak your racing experiences. Theres almost endless possibilities.

Online is chaotic and super fun and it has crossplay so you can play with any of your friends together no matter what platform they play on. Take your exclusivity BS and shove it up your ass Nintendo.

Biggest drawback is easily the price. If Sega priced this at 40$ to 50$ and then made the deluxe edition 60$ with the season pass in it and all it would've been an absolute no-brainer. Especially compared to the overpriced and boring competition Nintendo shat out.

When I beat chapter 1 all the way back then when the game released I was absolutly left wanting more. ALOT more. Because Cultic is just such a fantastic game. The level design, the gunplay, the visuals, THE SOUNDTRACK, etc etc.
Especially considering this is basically made by just one person.

So of course I was excited as hell to hear that chapter 2 was in the works and well it released, just beat it and once again I am left wanting MORE.
Its a HUGE upgrade over chapter 1 in pretty much every aspect. Bigger levels, more secrets, more easter eggs, more memes, more monsters, monsters get new and more moves n attacks, more bosses, more guns, more upgrades, more big ass battles, more awesome music. Just more of literally everything.

Chapter 1 did get a nice upgrade too.
Visually enhanced levels along with some small improvements and changed up layouts in them. New sounds and other such things. Which certainly made it worth replaying chapter 1 but it still doesnt come anywhere close to the absolute epicness that is chapter 2.

If you already liked Cultic then chapter 2 will easily satisfy you in every aspect. Having just beat it I am both happy and sad. Happy because I could experience this masterpiece of a game. But also sad because is over.
It does have great replay value tho if you plan on beating it on a higher difficulty, finding all the secrets, easter eggs and memes of course.

So yeah BIIIG recommendation. If you like Cultic Chapter 1, Blood or pretty much any other boomer shooter then Chapter 2 will definitely satisfy you.

This game is rivaling Monster Hunter Wilds with its absolutely terrible performance.
9800X3D with a 7900XTX yet the performance is abyssmally bad and only gets worse each update. And Im not even playing on highest settings.
Now atm with the latest update the performance is the worst its ever been.

The kernel level anti-cheat is absolutely unacceptable in a pure PvE game and ontop of that the anti-cheat program is so ♥♥♥♥ that it actually destroys peoples PCs. The anti-cheat itself is malware.
REMOVE IT AT ALL COSTS.

Lastly... Why is the game 141gb? Pretty much all planets are just mostly empty areas with only grass, rocks, sand, trees and swamps for the most part with some objectives randomly sprinkled into em. Theres no way that this takes up so much space.

I uninstalled the game and it will remain uninstalled until the developers start fixing the game and get rid of the malware anti-cheat.

Early Access Review
I was pretty annoyed when I saw the interview with the CTR game director saying that they NEVER even considered a PC port of CTR as they didnt think it would sell to well here. Clearly they were smoking some serious crack.

But after playing The Karters 2 that bad mood faded very quickly. Its basically CTR but more modern and enhanced. It feels incredibly satisfying to play and gives you a awesome sense of speed other karting games such as Mario Kart World can only dream off.
Its a early access release yes but the base foundation and driving mechanics are already very good.

The base game is a bit lacking on content atm because of it being a early access release but thats no issue at all as the workshop already has a massive amount of mods to add tons of extra tracks, karts, characters and more giving you pretty much infinite content.

The Karters 2 is already off to a very strong start and Im really looking forward to seeing this game get even better and better throughout its development cycle.
Can absolutely recommend this awesome racer.

How this ever got approved as a game is beyond me.

The game barely works. Its completely non functional in alot of aspects. Coop not working, missions randomly breaking, saves getting corrupted or lost amongst so many other issues.

Story is absolute trash and the characters in this game are some of the most annoying and badly written chars you can come across modern gaming. Easily on par with Borderlands 3 and GTA 5 levels of cringe.

Do not buy it under any circumstances. Theres nothing but disappointment waiting for you.
