While improvements have been made from Fallen Order, Survivor still suffers from a lot of the same issues the first game does as well as introducing some new baffling design choices. Like Fallen order i played this game on Jedi Grandmaster and like in that game that difficulty really highlights the game faults.

I'll start of with the positives first before diving into the negatives:

Story is interesting and has very many cool set-pieces. Escaping the Temple on Jedha with Merrin is one of the standouts moments.

Graphics-wise the game looks great

Voice acting is well done and sounds great.

Actually has Side Quests and more content. This was severly lacking in Fallen Order so its great to see here.

More Parkour and exploration. I felt rewarded for exploring here a lot more than Fallen Order.

Issues Survivor has includes:

Like Fallen Order Cal's movement still feels stiff and hitting people with your lightsaber feels clunky.

While the new stances are cool they have bizzare design choices. Why is Dual Wield the only one that gets animation canceling for example

The overabundance of enemies in normal mob fights. Most of these fights include multiple enemy types that swarm from both close and long range.
Most enemies also now have multiple unblockable red attacks and they spam these often leading to being hit unfairly in fights due to multiple enemies spamming unblockable attacks at once.
This aswell as Inconsistent hitboxes on attacks especially on bigger enemies like the Rancor forces you to play keep-away and only going in for a few quick hits.
Enemies like the Rancor also now have one-shots which are frustating combined with how inconsistent the hitboxes are
Dont even get me started on how terrible stuff like the Double Rancor and Double boggdo fights feel with all these issues.
Respawn seems to have a big issue with understanding how to design engaging and fun mob fights and non humanoid fights.

A lot of these issues seem to have been tried to be band-aid fixed by giving Cal more stims compared to fallen order however this makes him a tank and makes normal boss fights way too easy considering you can have up to 12 stims.

On the topic of normal boss fights they are just ok. Nothing outstandingly good and not much improvements have been made from Fallen Order. Most of them are generally easy to figure out and don't really offer a challenge.

Performance is still terrible. I had the game crash multiple times aswell as the Steam overlay not working during my entire playthrough. This meant that i for example could not see achivements getting unlocked. I could only see them in the Steam client itself by either minimizing the game or closing it.
Issues like these are unacceptable and that it still isn't fixed is honestly baffling.

All in all while i have a lot of issues with Survivor it is definitely an improvement over Fallen Order.
Hopefully Respawn manages to learn from Survivor and Fallen Order for the next game.

Persona 3 is my favorite game of all time, It's an amazing game. Unfortunately this port is not. The backgrounds are AI-upscaled and look terrible, audio is heavily compressed and sounds bad, even the save menu is just an upscaled version of the PSP save menu, like what. There's also been no changes made to the game itself so stuff like the anime cutscenes are still missing. What you are getting is an upscaled PSP port.

It's a shame that Portable is the one that got ported and not FES. It's a heavily downgraded experience compared to FES and it's a shame many people will experience Persona 3 and its amazing story for the first time in this downgraded form.

Portable is a great time if you've played the original game, especially since the Female route is different, but as a first time experience i definitely recommend FES. Hoping that Atlus realizes that both versions are worth playing and gives us FES aswell.

As it stands this version is passable, but its clearly very lazily put together and thats a shame because Persona 3 deserves better.

Nocturne HD is definitely not a good remaster. Besides the addition of voice acting and a few quality of life changes the remaster is lazy. The OST is still compressed when this could have been the perfect oppurtunity to use the un-compressed versions of the songs.

When it comes to DLC Dante is the only one i can understand, due to them most likely having to pay licensing fees, however the other DLC content outside of Dante is meaningless and stuff like the SMT BGM pack should have been a cool extra bonus that was included in the base game, not something you have to purchase.

The price is also insane. Persona 4 Golden launched for a fair price and on top of that it supported uncapped framerates while Nocturne is locked at 30.

Wait for a huge sale as currently it is definitely not worth buying.

If Atlus wants ports and remasters of their older titles to sell well they really need to follow in Persona 4 Golden's footsteps
