Everwind has a fantastic premise and an incredible foundation, the flying ship is easily one of the most interesting mechanics I’ve seen in a long time. Unfortunately, one feature ends up undermining that sense of wonder: the compass.
The compass removes much of the challenge and care that should come with managing your ship. You can abandon it anywhere, even leave it hovering in the sky, and simply teleport back whenever you’re done exploring. This makes the ship feel less like a vessel you pilot and care for, and more like a disposable waypoint. You can just leave it high up in the sky, jump down in the water, explore all you like and just teleport back without having to park your ship near the island etc.
On top of that, the compass automatically reveals points of interest on islands, which takes away from the joy of true exploration. Discovering new locations should feel organic and rewarding, not guided by a radar.
If the compass were removed (or at least heavily limited), the experience would feel far more immersive and meaningful. Everwind doesn’t need such a simplifying mechanic, the core design is strong enough to stand on its own.

needs way more polish, game is super clunky in its current state, world feels empty while having tons of structures, its all copy and pasted same stuff, the shroud is always the same, vaults are always the same, homes you find are always the same, its just a matter of what kind of enemy youll find there now, the difficulty in the game isnt hard enemies with engaging mechanics, its you fighting against the clunky fighting system while 10 mobs jump you at the same time

honestly the worst game ive ever played, the amount of effort that was put into it can be compared to following a unity tutorial for 5 minutes and turning it off. The hp and mana bars are sliders that are interactable and you can literally change them with your cursor, they havent even thought about adding settings to the game with resolution options and volume options with the game being based on the sounds. i cant believe more than 2 drunk guys on a friday night did this game in more than 5 hours

Hands down one of the best games I've ever played, if not the best.
