First and foremost I gotta state that this game's story is about a really heavy topic, so if you're not into that, you should consider sitting this one out.

On the other hand, this game not only made me ♥♥♥♥ my pants but also mentally scarred me, had its ups and downs, also I really liked how the game uses sleep and nightmares we often experience like not being able to properly run when being chased, seeing spiders everywhere etc. Its so vastly different from other backrooms games that its in a category of its own. Horror was well used, not overly saturated with chase scenes and unnecessarily hard and obscure puzzles. Would recommend if you like horror with a psychological touch to it.

Gifted by Zofeg ❤️

After playing through all endings and getting quite frustrated by some of the checkpoints, I'd recommend it. The story was a more philosophical take rather than a concrete laid out one, but the environments and atmosphere carried the game till the end.

I wasn't expecting a walking simulator, and wasn't disappointed by not expecting one. Puzzles weren't too hard, nor impossible to complete, but some had me scratching my head. Especially the first electricity puzzle which I think should be reworked to better visualize the mechanics like how lights can activate anything that's in their line of sight. Chase sequences were quick, not too harsh and so far scattered that I didn't mind them really.

One thing I'd definitely change is the rot ending minigame. The light switch mechanic was unclear and unfair as you'd have to ALWAYS sit through ~2-3 minutes of dialogue before even getting a chance to attempt the minigame from that point on. I thought it relied on sound cues, but as it turns out sound cues don't mean sh*t at that part... you just gotta visually see the monster, thats all there is to it.

I honestly have no idea how they even plan on continuing the series though or why it became a series in the first place. The story (what little there is of it) gets concluded in multiple of the endings... so unless they introduce someone else for Episode 2, I see no point in making a sequel (other than to experience all the levels that were cut which were in the trailers...)

Early Access Review
In its current state I cannot recommend. Hopefully it'll be patched up in the future and I can return to it and perhaps swap my review to a positive one... But as of now, the game is borderline unplayable.
Item spawning barely works, the voice chat constantly breaks up and starts lagging out of nowhere, levels that are pitch black on my friends end are bright as heaven on mine.

There is potential here, the game is visually stunning and the mechanics are there, they just don't compliment eachother well. I'd like to see more mission focused levels like the very first level you start on. That's innovative, its unique to this game, but for some reason the later levels completely ditch the idea and go in the traditional "find exit, look for x of this to leave" gameplay.

Really nice calm, cozy and chill experience with a couple brain twisting puzzles. Had a good enough time to stay until 100% completion and I enjoyed my time. Raccoon in a rocking chair was something I didn't know I needed before this...

I wish there was a "meh" rating on Steam...
This has got to be one of the most "meh" mascot horrors I've played recently.

From a story perspective it's so easily predictable that I laughed when I listed 3 things that could happen and always happen in mascot horror games and all of them happened in the end. unnecessary chase sequence, reusing the same gameplay loop all throughout, not having a proper conclusion just in case they want to continue it.

From a gameplay perspective its fine I guess? I have to point out though that the first ever room where you encounter The Toy is just horribly designed... The player isn't yet adjusted to the mechanics, The Toy's hearing range is way too large and his wandering range is way too small, always centered around the player mind you... Couple this with not having enough time to look around and remember the level layout and the game being one of the darkest games I've ever played (seriously, PLEASE FIX THE BRIGHTNESS SETTING, IT DOESN'T WORK!) and you get a really unpleasant opening experience, the later parts of the game were honestly fine, but that opening sequence NEEDS A REWORK.

Didn't encounter performance issues, except for a few microlags which can be brushed off as just Unreal being Unreal. Visually I wish I could rate it if the entire game wasn't pitch black. Overall meh, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say that like all CASE games, this will be patched and further refined in updates turning it into a, okay or good game.

Only thing it took to make a playable Hello Neighbor game was to have it outsourced lmao
This is genuinely a really competent survivor vs hunter genre multiplayer game. The sale price tag is well worth it considering all the original content and all the modding you can do with the workshop.

The fact that this is 13€ is a bad joke I swear...
Majority of the game was made by AI including voice lines, textures, posters, videos and I'm pretty sure the plot, and at least some parts of game design like puzzles were also made with assist from AI. The rest of the game is Assets from the Unreal Marketplace.

There's also constant crashes, performance issues and softlocks (specifically only after dying, or when loading a new level. The loading screen has a habit of getting stuck on the screen and never disappearing even after the game itself finished loading and I can hear everything in the background and play...)

Props to the dev team for starting to make original assets instead of the AI generated ones, but the game is still plagued with amateurish AI generated stuff... I wish Steam had a "slop" tag...

Edit: After playing through and deciding the drop the game after dying to a very unfair mechanic in the very end of the lullaby section (which is the last section of the game and contains no save points at all btw), I can confidently say this game was utter AI slop made purely for monetary gain with no care from its developers. The absolute lowest I have seen a mascot horror game go.

Exactly what indie horror should be like.
Its unique, grimy, uncomfortable and memorable due to how absurd the whole thing is.
The more I experience products touched by Mike Klubnika the more I start to feel like he's the Mozart of indie horror. Absolutely recommended if you want to feel uncomfy and spooked.

Absolutely deserving of more attention. The distortion on camera taken photos makes them ultra realistic, crazy good work for the team size. Would love to see more!
