Fantastic game, a great sequel to the original which improves upon it in almost every way.

The combat for me felt improved with reducing the number of attack directions from 6 to 4 and I am actually able to pull off combos now compared to the first game. The perfect block and riposte is easy to follow now as well, though it's actually a trap to riposte constantly once you get good at the combat.

I never engaged with Alchemy in the first game but I quite enjoyed the Alchemy and Crafting mini games in the sequel, plus now you can make the best weapons in the game with crafting. A small nitpick is that you can only craft swords and axes, and cannot craft hammers or polearms other than the pre-order poleaxe which quickly gets surpassed by all other weapons.

For better or worse they also made swords the best weapon in the game and there is little reason to use the other weapon types other than style. So if you like using swords then this is a plus.

There are some small technical issues I ran into during my playthrough but nothing game breaking that couldn't be fixed by saving and reloading. And NPC reactivity to weather compared to the first game seems to be gone as now the NPC's will just continue to go about their business normally even in the middle of a thunderstorm which is a shame.

Also archery was greatly improved and now you can actually shoot straight without the need for a crosshair mod.

Great game, will be even better once the server capacity issues are ironed out.

This was a very enjoyable title. I liked the story and the general gameplay, the only negative I can think of is that it gets somewhat grindy with farming exp and materials for upgrades, though nothing cheat engine can't fix.

Pretty good RPG, though I would recommend following a guide to get a good ending.

I enjoyed it more than Nioh 1.
