I would have a lot more fun if I could save scum mid match. I can't tell you how many times I repeat the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ actions for 5 rounds, wasting 5-10 minutes, just to try a new strategy for the later rounds. Makes it so tedious to try to optimize your results and makes me want to quit the game. Please, have some respect for my time. Makes me wish I refunded the game, I feel like I'm being punished for wanting to optimize and try different strategies.

The best part of the game is really the battle animations, but they don't really add anything to game and just slow you down, so I turned them off. I'd recommend this game for you if you just want to turn off your brain, watch cool animations, and give just a bit of thought to combat.

This is the game pokemon strives to be. But with much less marketable monsters.

Very well paced game. Go as fast or slow as you want. Careful play is rewarded since damage is permanent, and you can find a helpful amount of extra gold and health pickups by destroying all the furniture. Also, it's easier to beat each floor's boss if you kill the enemies on the stage one group at a time. You'll also collect more gold, gems, and items if you can methodically kill all the baddies without taking damage. Or you can speed run straight to the boss room and beat em with your well tuned starter build. The fights are pretty fast and it's very punishing to get stuck in an enemy combo, but the enemies are predictable and fair. There's tons of collectibles, and you can change your robe, artifact, and 4 starter spells each run.

I played with Rift and Touch controllers using 2 sensors at opposite corners of my play area. I had to move my setup around to get good 360 coverage, which was 100% neccesary since you often have to turn and shoot behind, even if's just to retreat. The 2 sensor setup was good enough for me to play well without losing tracking. I had 2 crashes in the first hour I played that I couldn't figure out a reason for. I also had trouble keeping my arm up and by the end of a session I was missing most of my shots just duie to fatigue, but that's not something that I hold against the game.

The objective is simply to survive as long as possible by teleporting between preset platforms (by shooting them) and killing enemies before they break your doors down. You can teleport to special gate towers that close large gates and prevent enemies from spawning behind them. There are currently 3 gates, and a really cool suprise near the last gate that hints at future levels and stories, and actually shows some promise of good storytelling through environment design.

This is definitely a game that's worth playing now, and I'm excited to see it at release quality.
