Rauniot (Finnish for 'Ruins') is excellent post apocalyptic isometric point and click adventure game set to northern Finland in 1981. Unknown calamity wiped out most of humanity in 1974. Protagonist Aino is send to find another scout Toivo, who is looking for fabled nuclear train. Game style is Finnish melancholic Fallout-like visuals. Some topics reminiscent of 1993 movie Last Border. Fully voice over in northern Finland dialect. Some puzzles are tough to crack and require very frequent traceback using games fast travel option. I recommend the game for seasoned adventure game veteran who likes postapocalyptic stories.

Classic Dwarf Fortress, now with UI and easy to start tutorial. If you didn't touch DF before, now it is recommended.

Excellent art game. Cibele is all about net romances and thus it's really good for those people who are not into MMORPG:s and don't know about how people meet up online. So I would say the target audience is 40+ year olds and teenage girls. Although theres some syrup I wouldn't say game a romantic one, more like case study of real life of Nina Freeman. On the plus side the game does portrays MMORPG chatting, grinding and drama in it's true form.

Heroine’s Quest sounds like a parody of Quest of Glory 1 (formerly known as Hero’s Quest) but it’s a pretty good roleplaying-adventure. As a self standing heroine (and game) HQ features a bundle of nifty ideas. One which does appeal to me is Viking saga setting. Another good idea is introduce of winter survival - one tends to get frozen out there. The game is indeed fairytale-like, lightly written and full of good humour. As far as parents are concerned the game wouldn’t rate far in age ratings. I heartfeltly recommend this game for geekgirls and -boys alike. The staying problem has been that few games provide good role models for girls. Hence the game that actually fills the Bechedel and Two XChromosomes-tests is indeed something that everyone should be aware of. I hope this game gets a sequel - the only downside is that this might not get as much attention as it deserves.
