Haven't finished it yet.

Game is incredible.

It is also hard.

That is all.

edit: Still haven't actually beaten it with the true ending, but the game is a 10/10 and every new boss I get to at this stage of the game has been blowing me away. They're all so incredible, hard, and somehow all feel completely unique. I definitely recommend pushing for the true ending after you've beaten the initial story.

edit 2: Finished the game's true ending, have to revise my review to 11/10. And it just keeps getting harder until you're done.

I recommend this game to anyone who plays MMORPGs and I recommend it to people who have tried MMORPGs but could never find one that they liked.

There's like 80 hours of content between level 1 and 80 and hundreds of hours of things to do once you reach level 80. The content created in 2013 is still relevant today.

There's no level treadmill or gear treadmill. There's 9 base classes and 3 elite specializations for each one, making effectively 27+ different classes/playstyles (some have multiple pretty different ways to play them effectively). There's 5 races that do not really affect gameplay a lot, so you can make any combination you want without worrying about making "the wrong choice" and hurting your stats later on.

The combat is very active and reactive, particularly once you're reaching the more difficult levels of content. It's quite fun and there's a lot of things going on that separates it from the typical rotation-based gameplay of tab-target MMORPGs.

Mounts and movement. Unmatched in any other MMORPG. Hard point to argue otherwise.

There's a ton I could say. I love the game. No sub fee means you can take a break for a month or two and come back whenever you feel like it with no feeling of waste.

Anime, SciFi, Action, RPG, Rappies.

Sure it's late to leave Japan, but it has aged well and there's big things coming next year.

Samus is so hot in this game.

Now both of my first video games are on Steam. Chex Quest and Sonic CD. Being a PC gamer is good.

I love Metroidvanias. I want to love this game since I waited so long for it. I paid for it at Steam release, but I've been watching it since it was first announced on Kickstarter.

Chasm is beautfiful, but for an exploration game set underground, it really lacks depth. I beat the entire game in two sittings with 99.9% explored. My 8 hours of playtime include about 2-3 hours of being away from my computer with the game running.

I was following it because Metroidvanias with RPG aspects are my ♥♥♥♥.

Game's too short. I was convinced that since it was taking so long to develop, it would be quite the game. The procedurally generated maps means very few secrets and upgrades you find throughout the game. You can backtrack once you get upgrades to find some treasures, but hardly anything feels meaningful. The controls are mostly good, the walljumps feel a little weird though.

I dunno. I'd be a lot more positive if it was a $10 game, but it's $20. I'm trying to avoid comparing it to other games, but Hollow Knight is in every way its superior. Salt and Sanctuary is much better as an RPG with Metroidvania elements. Both of those games are less expensive and on more platforms.

I'm disappointed with Chasm.

Fun game. Expect to pay for DLC if you want a complete game. Also, the DLC is not worth the price you pay for it. 90-95% of the game is available for $50, 5-10% of the game is for $25.

Positives:
Lovely game. Old school Final Fantasy meets Achievement Hunter 3000.

Customize your characters' stats as they level. Make a damage dealing white mage if you so please! Also no level cap.

Cool character classes. You can go into the game folder and replace sprites to change the look of your characters if you don't like the default looks.

Open world in the vein of old FF games.

Awesome music with different battle tunes and dungeon music on every continent.

Hidden stuff everywhere, even entire dungeons in remote areas.

Lots of optionals and endgame content.

Negatives:
If you just stack defense and magic defense you can get through pretty much the entire game without any trouble on most difficulties.

Damage dealt = 4x Attack stat - 2x enemy defense stat.

That and instant death spells are ridiculous. Either you have protect rings and they don't do anything or you don't have protect rings and your entire party dies before you even get to attack. Mindflayers.

Megaman Zero meets Metroidvania. A tad buggy and some crashes for me, but amazing gameplay. Best I've played in a while.
