I have been a player of MMOs for quite a while and at 24 hours into New World I can whole-hardheartedly recommend it as one of the best designed MMOs I have played.

Most negative reviews point out features that are unique to MMOs and this genre of games. They clearly do not like MMOs and therefore do not like New World. That's okay. Unfortunately, the bandwagon for this game created a massive hype for people that have never played an MMO in their life, no wonder a lot of people don't like the game.

As far as MMOs go, this game is beautifully crafted to be different and avoid some of the flaws that other games suffer from. The combat is much more exciting and interactive than that of games like World of Warcraft where you quite literally spam tab and then the number keys on your keyboard. The leveling system for different trade skills and level requirements for new types of metals is a genius idea that makes you progress your character in different aspects. If you don't want to pay 2k gold for a starmetal pickaxe, then go out and mine until level 100, craft different tools and weapons to level those skills up, and eventually make a starmetal pickaxe. Every MMO has a grinding aspect to it, New World happens to implement it in a non monotonous way.

Like I said, I think most people that wrote negative reviews have never and will never be a fan of MMOs, and that's okay. I just wish they would realize that most of the issue is them not liking MMOs and not the fault of New World its self.

After playing the game for over a year and having so much fun with my friends I was sad to see the unfortunate decision Rockstar had made to ban all who recieve money from hackers. So if a hacker literally walks up to you and forcibly hands you money, you will be banned. Hmm not the fairest game mechanic.

Great game from what I have experienced. The only issue I have run into is optimization. I am able to play every other game I have ever downloaded at full graphics, but this game for some reason can barely run on the lowest settings. Which yeah I can play, but playing with low graphics ruins the game experience! Please where is the optimization team?!!?!?!?

Starting playing a couple days ago, and I can see a couple problems. The resources need to be a lot more abundant, starting out is difficult because you can not find the resources that you need. Or include a world creation option that allows to ramp up the abundancy of resources. There also needs to be some way to keep from spawing major bosses such as the worm in the craters. I leanred not to go for the minerals in the craters! Not trying to hate on the game, I have only played it a little bit and overall like it very much other than a few things.

Pretty good game! I recommend getting the Triple Thrill Pack.
