(NOTE: I'll be honest, I have never played the original "Vindictus", so I do not know how that game plays. Never heard of it until a bit after this game, "Vindictus: Defying Fate", was announced. So this review is coming from the perspective of a guy who knows nothing of the first one, but who also enjoys souls-like/hack-and-slash games. I hope this dose not take away from my authenticity of reviewing this game, since I personally can't really compare it to the first one and only to other souls-like/hack-and-slash games.)

I really enjoyed the alpha test. I was genuinely surprised that it was an "alpha test" with how well it played, how great it looked, and the plethora of customization options provided. I wish I could play this game while it's being developed! I was enjoying my time with the game that much. While I understand, and also agree with some of the criticisms, it was still an alpha test. Glad there was one, now that the devs got our feedback. The combat could use more combos and abilities, while the upgrades for said abilities could use major increases to their percentages. Other than those valid criticisms, I will state again that I enjoyed my time in the alpha test.

Another thing I want to mention. That in the alpha test, there was an in-game cosmetic shop and a "supplies-level-pass" kinda thing. The in-game cosmetic shop used currency earned in-game that you get by completing missions, exploring, and leveling up on the "supplies-grind" thing. This game is going to be a single-player game with online Co-op as an option, so my hope is that this "supplies-grind" stuff will remain free as a feature and not a micro-transaction thing, as well as the stuff in the in-game cosmetic shop with using the in-game earned currency and not real money. I could be wrong, but I'm going to be cautiously optimistic with it. But if it turns out that there will be "Supplies-Passes", then that will be a downer.

Lastly, the game is BEST played with a controller. It is even stated on the game's steam store page that the devs recommend playing the game with one. The game allows you to customize your controls on controller, and that is a pro in my book.

All in all, the game has real potential to be a good game. I'm going to be optimistic about it.

I completly agree with supertrooper225! I dont mean to be blunt and strate forword but, people need to P i s s off and leave the bugs alone to be delt with by the creators. ALL GAMES HAVE BUGS!!! XD Just deal with it and have fun with the game!
