I've had a lot of fun in this game. Everything feels very balanced once you get a grasp on the structure. I've beaten the game at least once with each class in the game by this point and the soundtrack is just incredible. It never gets old. I also own the game on Android which I've put as much or more time into. Quest of Dungeons ranks quite highly in my dungeon crawler collection. It's simple and focused and a game that is perfect to jump into and out quickly or settle into with a beverage.

BS3 was actually a lot of fun when I got over my initial frustrations with the controls. Steam Input has made this game much less of a hassle than when I originally attempted to play it years ago. A few characters are less than enthusiastic about their scene, and the camera was in the way a few times, but you'll have that in older games. All in all it was a fun entry in the series. I didn't come across any game breaking bugs in this entry. The story was fun and the mechanics set new expectations for the series.

Gemini Rue is one I picked up a number of years back and put down, but I'm glad to come back and play it through last weekend. This game has great vibes and an awesome story! I think the story could start with a little more explanation, but so long as you search every little thing you hear and see in the consoles you'll pick up on a lot of the story. I sadly waited till the end to see much of the backstory of the world. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the game, even if my playthrough finished with the assistance of a guide. I was taken by surprise at many of the ambient events happening in the background of environments of Azriel's story, making the game feel more alive. I did encounter one bug with the Easter Egg Characters not showing up where they were supposed to, but that's okay. I'd like to go back and play the commentary which hopefully then they'll spawn.

To be fair I really did like this game up until the last 10 minutes. This game has a terrible ending and it's something you should be aware of if you're actually spending money on it. The game plays great and the voice actors are like as good as they could be. I actually laughed at some of the dialog, but the writer and artist both gave up on landing this story as authentically as it started out. At the 50% mark you're given around 5 fetch quests or so to finish the game, these are quite simple and flesh out your understanding of the world. Immediately after that little tangent you can go ahead and forget everything about the story of this game and earn yourself a pitiful ending via a 30 minute final descent into the worst variant of an M Night Shyamalan plot twist. Choices do not matter to the story and nothing will affect this nonsensical ending. The dialog drags on in a few places. I'd say I clicked through 25% of the dialog boxes. Some lines are truly wonderful and nice though, again it's simply how terrible of an ending this game has it's not worth the slog. The game is fully voiced and the actors are great to be fair. In part the artist decided not to depict the finale for some reason, like what a difference that could have made possibly, but the writer went on to toss the story into a ditch and leave it, taking this game from being an easy 7 or 8 out of 10 down to like 3 out of 10 I gotta knock that whole score down a lot for such a terrible ending to an otherwise interesting story.

A Sequel For The Fans

Revolution proved you could make a lasting impression with just a single title, with the launch of Beneath A Steel Sky in ‘94; it’s decades-long cult success is thanks to its timeless nature, life in a surreal future that you can still tie to reality. The now-experienced Revolution really brought it all to the table this time around with Beyond A Steel Sky; a true-to-form sequel, it will inspire awe for long-time fans of the series, and I strongly encourage new-comers to play the original for world-building purposes (it’s very easy to run on modern systems, especially iPhone). I have to mention that I had two loading CTDs, but autosaves picked me right back up for those, and one sequence break early on and had start a new game. I know what I did to break it so don't use the crowbar on the stuck bridge piece, it prevented the robot in the next part from performing his role in the next sequence I've held Beneath A Steel Sky in my top 3 games since I was a kid playing on Windows 95, so I would have taken anything, but honestly all of my aspirations were fulfilled with this sequel.

Fun Indie Games Break. Race to the Sun simply doesn't launch only 6 years after release. Imagine buying another game from that developer, I can't.

Don't be fooled, Jalopy doesn't support your controller, and you're about embark on a journey of keeping the car in-between the lines for far too long A, D, A, D, A, D, A, D, ALT+F4

Incredible design paired with some of the laziest writing, but definitely worth playing through.

This game is very repetitive and the antithesis of fun.
