I cannot fully recommend this game for a few reasons

First, the UI takes after Vic3. It is just menus inside of menus inside of menus. I had a popup that had four different effects and instead of just telling me the results of the effects, PDX gave them names that you have to hover over to see the effects. Also, you have to first right click on a country, then select the country browser so you can interact with the country. On top of all of that, the menus are buggy. I had to double click on a just opened menu so I could actually click the buttons in it.
Also, the UI is kinda ugly. Your character portrait is comically small in the corner, basically the entire UI/its text is too small
No reason why we should be forced to stare at the situations at the top of our screens when we're not even involved in them. As Castille, IDGAF about the 100 years war! Let the french and english duke it out without bothering me that its happening.

Second, the game doesn't like giving you info straight up, or makes it impossible to quickly find info (other than the Europedia button, but I imagine its even more menu clicking). Specifically, its hard to figure out what an IO's decisions do. Twice I've been tricked by the Pope (the poop) by his stupid debates. The first time we went on a Crusade against Egypt, but I had no idea what calling the crusade would actually entail, so I got stack wiped multiple times because I went "oh I have to fight this." The second time the poop called for Dei Gratia Rex. What does it do? IDK! The game won't tell me either!
I have also spent multiple minutes searching to split my infantry in my standing army up cause i want to delete a stack of them but i literally cannot find the button! Awful! In eu4 all you do is press the create a new unit button inside of the small menu with large icons. In this, you get a huge menu with small buttons!

Third, I've heard of people with good specs crashing, and I've crashed already while playing a banking country. I don't have the most modern of specs (i7 9800k, 1070ti, 16gb ram, ssd) so I'm not really complaining about this one too much, but the fact that people with better computers crash as well is a bad sign.

Fourth, you should NOT be planning for DLC already. Plain greedy.

Fifth, the character aspect in EU is kinda off putting. Why can I send my commander to marry a lowborn? Why is that important; why do i care?

Sixth, the map mode selection is terrible. Why do I have to click on them instead of it being hotkeys like eu4. Too much clicking

Finally, I've heard some other reviews that the game has not a lot of engaging content past 1600 (by Swimmy specifically) which is incredibly disappointing, also that the AI is too laid back and wont do much in terms of conquering.

The game has potential, but it's simply too infuriating to actually want to look at and interact with. IDK how PDX ever thought that Vic3 menus were ever a good idea, especially since people ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and moaned about them from the beginning (and for good reason). PDX please give us a UI overhaul so its closer to EU4's UI instead of Vicky's!

This game is pretty fun. It handles better with keyboard and mouse compared to MGSV. Its challenging and very confusing when you first play it. (since there's no tutorial) After a game or two you will get used to the controls and then the game is pretty good.
