Death Stranding is flawed, stupid and incomprehensible sometimes, but my god does it digs its way into your very soul by the end. Its wacky elements distract you as you progressively grow immensely emotionally attached to the world and characters. I started off thinking it was a goofy sandbox and ended it in tears. Every aspect, the story, the missions, the random characters with ridiculous names, they all come together to form an experience that feels extremely human. Kojima's games all share this theme of humanity, you can feel the love put into everything from the environments to the easter-eggs. Nothing will ever come close to replicating the feeling of playing Death Stranding for the first time, but here's hoping DS2 somehow blows away that expectation too.
