Yakuza 0 is a fantastically written, satisfying beat 'em up crime drama that is an absolute robbery for it's current price, nevermind on sale.
It will be delisted soon in exchange for the hororibly-done Director's Cut (which wasn't even made with the original director on the team), and it's a terrible shame that Sega is beginning to mismanage a series that I genuinely think will go down in history.
I don't like Fear Of Missing Out, but if you don't own this game, buy it now or find it someplace else before it's torched in the fires of greed.

Bullying simulator.
Me and my woman don't argue, she reminds me that I've genuinely enjoyed playing Dead by Daylight alone and we both agree that I'm incapable of forming opinions worth more than salt.

First "friendslop" game I've enjoyed playing equally with friends and solo.
R2modman can make the game exceptionally more tolerable if you're not the Sisyphus type.
Literally peak gameplay.

Desperately wish Bandai Namco cared about this series rather than barely tolerating it as "Tekken but with weapons and OCs".
Despite having matchmaking, this is now a Discord fighter. But it's still worth it, even now.

Sometimes, Fate places his hands on the rim of the bowl and releases his bowels into the Toilet of Time.

Nowadays, Monster Hunter World is to Monster Hunter Wilds what earlier numbered Monster Hunter games were to Monster Hunter World.
That is to say it still holds up to this day despite the follow-up games using it as a base.
I still haven't beaten Fatalis.

Dragonball probably changed my life for the better.
But Xenoverse 2 changed my life for the worse as I spend hours farming for dragon balls to wish for TP medals so I can afford to pay the funny level up namekian despite the fact that I haven't felt challenged by any of the game's content for years.
This game has so much to do and so much build variety, but man does it absolutely suck to peak.
The online connections for pvp suck and likely won't be fixed.
I am living a Saiyan's worst nightmare: there is no one left to challenge me.

Early Access Review
The gameplay is great. It's very loose and freeform, the animations are snappy and satisfying; everything overall feels good to handle (if a bit janky sometimes), but the game grinds to a halt when you press the block button and realise you got hit from behind by an undodgeable attack, which only hit you from behind because you happened to orientate the character away from said attacker.
In a 3D beat 'em up action game: letting yourself get slapped on the ass is a sin. This is partially on the player, and partially on the developer. Just like with offence, defensive buttons need to get along and play nicely together. Limiting a player's options to just one button for specific attacks kinda sucks already, but all the specific mechanics that demand specific buttons are fine as long as the player can have Full Control.
I do not have full control in this game.
I can't block after a dodge, I can't block anything behind me, I can't block for a whole 3 seconds after getting hit, I can't dodge during a block or parry, and most importantly, I can't account for all the exact movements of enemies and bosses when I getting tossed around due to the limitations of blocking and dodging. Other fighting styles attempt to change this up, but it never truly goes away.
I understand the limitations of solo development, but the gameplay genuinely feels like it was tested by someone who already knows the solution to all the attack patterns.

Good as it was, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice was catastrophic for the action game genre.

One of the best and msot satisfying beat 'em up games I've played, and plays very heavily akin to the combat in the Batman Arkham games (E.I. the best part of that series). custom tracks and RPM to make the game faster or slower to fit a song is beyond great, especially for an infinite mode. I'd pay for this demo if I could.
Disco is about as dead as the beat 'em up genre. That is to say, nobody who likes it will ever let it die.
