The concept is a pretty good idea! Spot differences from the starting map it shows you, sometimes there's horror aspects, sometimes it's something more subtle.

The implementation is terrible. It runs your GPU, no matter what it is, at full power - I and several friends noticed our GPUs - both Nvidia and AMD, so no, it's not a hardware issue - pushing 80 to 90 celcius even on the lowest graphics settings (which makes the game look like something from the early 2000s).

You cannot rebind any keys (including push to talk or crouch), you cannot limit the framerate, the sound equalisation is very bad - some things are almost inaudible, and some things - not even the horror scares - are deafening, there is no noise suppression on the proximity chat, changing your microphone settings requires you to restart the entire game (and the game just straight up says that) and some of the maps are terribly designed - "Stairs" is a mostly empty field with one massive spiral staircase and nothing much else of interest.

Don't bother. You can find better cheap games to play with friends for a few hours or better horror games. Some of them even have basic features like "key rebinding" or "not grilling your hardware".

Early Access Review
Needs a beefy CPU but no other game does vehicle customisation as well as this one - or softbody physics.

To be fair, you need a very high IQ to understand Bad Rats. The physics are extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of cat and mice most of the simulations will go over a typical player’s head. There’s also Batting Rat’s nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Jerry's literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they’re not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Bad Rats truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the physics in Tractor Rat’s existential catchphrase “”, which itself is a cryptic reference to Splinter’s Janese epic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Invent 4’s genius physics unfolds itself on their computer screens. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂

And yes, by the way, i DO have a Bad Rats tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It’s for the ladies’ eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they’re within 5 points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid 😎
