Dream BBQ is pure art.

No rushed released, no cut corners, or anything the like. Just a bunch creatives given no constraints to make something truely beautiful.

Yeah it's pretty cool I guess.

You build expansive factories while being harassed by the locals for spewing pollution into the sky.
It's well polished with few bugs (except for the locals, there's a lot of them) and highly tuned.

Everything can be boiled down to ratios:
- An electric miner produces 0.5/s ore a second.
- A stone furnace processes ore into plates every 3.2 seconds.
- An iron gear takes two plates and 0.5 second to be made by hand.
- An assembler crafts at 0.5x speed compared to hand speed.

So if we wanted to make one gear per second, we'd need two plates per second, two tier one assemblers, 6.4 furnaces (round up to 7), and four electric miners.

This game is for a particular type of person, it's won't be everybody's cup of tea. I'm sometimes that person, really depends if I'm caffeinated or not.
It never goes on sale so you can buy it at any time.

You WILL suffer! Guaranteed!
I would consider this game the spiritual successor to Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy.
The goal of this game is to climb to the top of the level using a Pogostick. Simple concept really.
just a couple problems
  • Your character has never learned of this foreign alien concept known as "standing" and is incapable of staying still in one place. Best they can do is do short hops on their Pogo stick while leaning into a random direction. This is fantastic detrimental when jumping onto smaller platforms as you cannot stay for very long.
  • You're fat, and made of rubber. Well your character is anyways. Bumping your plump body into a surface will cause you to bounce off of it. which will likely throw you into buying a new keyboard after you smash it from falling down 30% of the map in a single bump.
  • The developer is sadistic. Most areas are built on top of massive death pits (or regular death pits in inconvenient places, (or cliffside parkour)). Which will drop you back 2-3 sections to your delight displeasure.
Now those aren't complaints... no no, those are just game features.

This game is not recommend for individuals that:
  • Have anger issues.
  • Are impatient.
  • The elderly.
  • Are pregnant or planning to be.
A large part of this game is repeating previous sections that you've already completed before, because you fell from newer sections all the way back down. Some sections you will have to repeat easily 25+ times. Be sure to take a break if you are really starting to get ticked off by the game and come back later, it's better to play with a cool head than fall even further down because you aren't thinking straight.

Features?
Sure I guess:
  • A lot of cosmetics, make your bald caveman troglodite creature classy.
  • Three main levels, bonus levels, plus workshop support for suffering even the devs couldn't think of.
  • The pogostick is pretty cool I guess. There's different and sometimes unexpected ways to use it to get through some sections. And it's fair. You don't fall because of some game RNG., you fall because you did something wrong and you can correct your mistake next time.
  • Multiplayer, by default you'll load into a lobby with 20-ish other strangers. You can go into a private lobby with just friends and there are some fun interactions like "rubber band pairing" and "pause menu blocks". There's no text or voice chat however.
Final (Miscellaneous) Notes:
Press 'E' to open the emote wheel. (took me 20 hours to figure that one out)
At this current time, the furthest I've gotten in Level 1 is approximately 80%, and this is after 24 hours of play. You're either in for a long haul or I suck. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This has a decently sized Japanese audience from what I've seen for whatever reason.
If you happen to make it up to the snake in Level 1, just to the right of the anvil I do recommend loitering in front of it for a little bit. SPOILER:
It will send you back to the bottom. It's a healthy thing to do in my opinion.
Thank you for reading my ramblings.

This is a great game. You can make custom spaceships the size of a building, or make it weigh 2 tonnes. Depending what difficulty you play kerbals can die. It's also very moddable and there is hundreds of mods out there.
