Fun, but not quite the same as Dead Space one. They changed developers from the original game and it does show.
A lot of little changes that just changed the feel.
Isaac was an engineer and not a solder and it felt that way in the first one with small parts (like melee attacks were slower, indicating that it wasn't a reflex). And there were other, small things that pointed out this. In Dead Space 2, he feels more like he's a solder, which killed some of the feel of horror (though it does acknowledge that he's an engineer when he's asked).
Weapons got tweaked, nothing too major except for the Ripper got nerfed a little too hard (though it also was always a little OP.)
The town feeling also didn't do any favours for the feeling of horror. While corridors are a bit confining, it doesn't have the whole claustphobia, truely alone feeling that was found in the first.
Battles tended to have more enemies this time, and in bigger, more open areas. Again, added to the whole solder feel and not engineer, while removing horror when I could take on a small army without much issue. It wasn't as life and death feeling.

A peaceful, casual game.
It's yet another Columns clone, but this time they are trying to add a story and... depth... I guess with the leveling up and choosing of different monsters to attack with.

A... different... type of game.
Not enough to explain whats going on. Seems more like a test of what to try then a fully thought out game.
Maybe a little too abstract of a game for many.

Able to remove limbs from patients while they are still alive.
Definately one of the better chapters in the Surgeon Simulator series.

A short and simple game, should take around an hour to finish a play through.

Lots of people are reviewing it badly for being short, but sometimes all you want is a quick little game to play and this is great for those times. Nothing too major but good enough.

Great game. A bit linear though, which is a sad departure from the originals.

Not many enemies at once, so no more you verse an army at once but still fun (limitation of when it was released, already put computers at the time to the test.) Along with rooms being more of small corridors and no real open room combat.

Many complained about the whole flashlight deal in the game, but I actually enjoyed that, the whole dark areas just added that much more to the feel.

Not a great game, not a horrible game (for it's price range).

The controls are a bit hit and miss at times (though from the "hacking" sections, you can tell it was designed for a controller, not a keyboard/mouse). Swimming mode wasn't as bad as some people are suggesting but did have a weird bug I found, being that when I was trying to surface for air I would find my character would race to the surface... and then stop and hover a few inches below the surface causing me to die 2 or 3 times.

Like Dead Space, your starting weapon is quite powerful and doesn't give you a reason to want to switch it when you start getting different weapons/ammo.

Story wasn't anything new or unique. Last boss was too simple and one of the most easiest battles I faced in game. Finished a little too suddenly, like they ran out of funds near the end and had to ship it out quickly (at least wasn't a buggy mess for me).
