A bit hard to get into, but once you grasp its mechanics it'll reward you with a really good CRPG experience. Definitely recommended.

TL:DR Probably the worst game in the series so far, only for fans of the series.

For starters, let's fix the low framerate and the sound glitching:
  1. Go to the game's properties in the Steam client: disable the Steam overlay(1), click on "Set launch options", put
    -compat-on
    and confirm(2,[www.gog.com]3)[www.gog.com].
  2. Open
    \Steam\steamapps\common\Broken Sword 4\system\custom.ini
in a text editor and look for this line:
    m_uiUseExtraProcessors = 0
    Change 0 to 1 and save(4);
  3. Open
    \Steam\steamapps\common\Broken Sword 4\system\compat.ini
in a text editor and look for these lines:
    m_bDSoundLocDeferOn
    and
    m_bDSoundLocForceSoftwareOn
Change the first line's value to 0, the second to 1 and save(5)[www.gog.com].
This should be enough to make the game more enjoyable.

Now, about the game. This fourth chapter really felt rushed. Some characters felt rushed (I can't complain about Mark and Archie though, I liked'em). THE ENDING felt like someone was really in a hurry, the "I left the stove on" kind of hurry. The story starts a bit slow, it catches up in the middle and drops like a sack of potatoes at the end.
Look at the maps: NY, Istanbul, Rome. They all have at least 4/5 location shapes each, but you'll visit only 2/3 per map. It's like some locations were scrapped because of time/budget constraints and they didn't bother to change the maps design. You can't even skip dialogues.
Controls are meh, you'll get stuck often when running. Do yourself a favour and remap the directional keys to WASD.

This game could have been better D:

It's a pretty short game. You can bum rush through the story mode in a couple of hours and unlock all the achievements pretty easily. Thanks to the level editor and the Steam Workshop support, though, the replay value is infinite.
The autosave feature is pretty much essential, since, at least on my system, the game crashes every now and then. You can play the game with a certain degree of freedom, and at the end you'll be judged for your performance: the grades and titles you'll receive have no repercussion on the game's mechanics and development, they are just for show.
If you enjoy puzzle games with a bit of action and the opportunity to make your own levels and share them, this game is for you.

Yes, it's old. And yes, it's totally worth it. Anachronox was intended as the first chapter of a trilogy (the game has a proper ending, but it's a "chapter" ending, not a "series" ending) and is affected by mild glitches, like falling out of the bounds of the map in some particular places, but nothing game-breaking. Also, you may have problems running it with the more recent systems.
BUT, if you can overlook these minor faults, all that is left is a really good game. It plays like a third-person adventure game with RPG elements and turn-based combat, with skill-related (like lockpicking) and story-related (and skippable, if it's a hassle for you) minigames. The combat is pretty much the less interesting part of this game, but the story, oh, the story.
Story, setting, writing, character development, dialogues and voiceovers, they're excellent. Lots of humorous moments, the game delivers without being too cheesy. The background music makes a bit of atmosphere, but that's it, nothing really outstanding.
The difficulty levels just define how spongy the enemies are, you can make it through the entire game without grinding levels, controls are ok, plenty of secret bits. You can watch again every cutscene from the main menu, very low replay value. Be sure to install the widescreen fix.
It's also pretty cheap, even cheaper during sales. Definitively recommended.

It was worth the dollar I spent for it. 100% easily achievable, if it's your first game of this kind it's ok, else it falls behind Puzzle Quest.

Classic game of Texas Hold'em enriched by the presence of four opponent characters from various franchises. You can unlock different decks or tables by winning a certain number of games and, if certain requirements are met, some weapon reskins and cosmetic items for Team Fortress 2.
Apart from the various sound, graphic and difficulty settings you can also choose how talkative are your opponents: while at the mimimum setting they'll throw some short joke here and there, at the max setting they'll share some lenghty stories or engage in some cheap talk between them, which can be pretty amusing.
Pretty good overall, and even better when on sale.

It's a design project with puzzle mechanics, you control your character and solve the puzzles by rotating the world around you and using your momentum. No story (well, it's a puzzle game, of course), sufficient controls, trippy music, dubbed sound effects. The puzzles are ok, but sometimes, due to the camera following you too close, you are left to guess where to go. 3 hours top to finish the game, the replay value lies in the different challanges (limited rotations, time trial etc).
Not exactly recommended for the full price, wait for sale or indie bundle.

Despite the first impression, the game is quite good. The world you can explore is pretty big and the game has more than one ending, depeding on your doings and the relationship between you and the various factions that dwell the island. The game relies a lot in textual descriptions of the environments you explore and the people you meet to make up for the plain graphics and limited art assets. Recommended if you don't mind a slow-paced game with an "old school" feel. Grab it when on sale with the rest of the saga.

I'll be frank about it, it is fun to play but some gameplay aspects could have been handled better.
First of all, you can't choose the difficulty level until you finish a complete run of the game. The game mechanics are pretty easy to learn so, depending on your experience as a gamer, you may feel a sense of unsatisfaction from the lack of challange the game initially presents (this is what irked me at first). Things really get better when you unlock the higher difficulty.
The dungeons in the game are each composed of 3 floors, each floor is composed of 16 room blocks on a 4x4 grid. The dungeon structure is randomized, but the room blocks are presets and after a while it gets a little repetitive, though it keeps things simpler.
The game offers stealth gameplay, equipment to make your character capable of certain feats like higher jumps or higher speed, magic spells, a little set of balanced weapons and permadeath, which is always nice in these games. It also supports a substantial number of languages and has basic video/audio option settings (and a FOV slider! yay!).
Not for everyone's taste but, if you're into it, it will keep you entertained.

Not exactly what I would call a challenging game, but it's cute. Buy it when on sale or bundle.
