-Spoiler free Campaign Review-
(Will add updates in comments if opinions change.)
Finished the main story, and haven't finished the logs or all the FOBs yet in around 20 or so hours. (51 hours total game time with multiplayer at the time of this review.) I don't know how some of these people are blazing through on legendary.
Parise- Get if you like Halo. After playing it through on legendary, some bosses had me running for my life and others only took a headshot. I tried to take on each FOB differently, and grappling up to a high cliff to see a sniper over looking a cluster of enemies, was always great to see. Nice to see 343 planned out different ways to play. Had a bunch of fun exploring it, and found the new characters fun and different. The more in-depth story beats can be missed if you aren't too familiar with some of the lore, but the core gameplay is engaging enough for anyone to pick it up. Each weapon type has a part to play and some enemies are weaker to certain types. Even different brute chieftains can be weaker to different types, even though they are the same class. All enemies feel different, and serve their own roles. Even if you take down a stronger opponent elite/brute minors can pick up better weapons to fill their role. Equipment was nice and easy to switch between on keyboard. Makes the game a whole late more interesting when you have to switch between equipment mid boss fight. The thrusters swap to a grapple for movement, and drop wall and threat sensor for stationary and recovery. Relying on just the grapple can work, but what's the point when you have so many other options. The drop wall becomes a fortress at max level, withstanding a turret's fire for a while before breaking. Each engagement (within the story missions) felt different. There were barely any similar layout of the rooms you fought in. The battle rifle was maybe too good, for the fact that it has so much more ammo capacity than most, but the sidekick variant pops heads like nobody's businesses with no bloom. Objectives might be repetitive, but the way they play out is different for each. Yes, you have to run around to get to an objective but the grapple makes getting around easy. This also makes it so you can engage the fight how you want to. If you see some hunters, either try to take them out with what's around or go back to a FOB and gear up. Take the ridge overlooking where they are, or go in with a squad of marines, who always seem to be up and about once you secure more parts of the map. The non-humans speaking English is great. Only thing is I heard the same voice lines a lot. (I died quite a bit.) If you don't get some of the story, go back and check out the other games again. See how the Chief is different then vs now. Learn more about some of the bosses you fight, and how the Banished operate. This campaign does a great job of not over flooding you with information expecting you to have done your homework, but it does expect you to have at least played the other games or know what happened in them to understand why most story points play out as they do. Honestly had hoped to see some familiar faces more, but being on a ring all along (at first) does tend to not let that happen.
Complaints- Main thing I had problems with are vehicle's health on legendary, how phantoms obliterate you, and some optimization problems. (Restarted fixed it.) Minor complaints can be how you are on one part of the ring the whole time (in the open world sections.) Not really anything big for me personally since having an open world that would rely on you fast traveling just to get to different biomes would be worse than just flying or driving or grappling to the next place you need to be.
And just remember, you could have a whole campaign for 60$ or get three different armor sets for multiplayer for 60$.
(Also before seeing complaints about graphics and things, just be glad we got PC release day one. The game is far from a port over and there are any game breaking bugs from my playthrough. Crashed happened but can't expect my pc to preform that well when I'm on discord and listening to music on my browser at the same time. Very glad I didn't have to get the brand new Xbox just to play a game franchise I've grown up on since I started to actually play more mature video games.)

The new features themselves are worth the buy. If you already have the base game you might as well get this for all the extra content it provides. The multiplayer only adds to what this offers.

This game can be relaxing or the most stressful thing. I've played since it was in pre-release on the Chrome store. Loved every moment
