Looking at other reviews, it seems prudent to mention first of all that yes, this game has flaws and it is with it's overarching story and sometimes forgettable levels. However, that is all the criticism from me, I loved every bit of this game, even it's rough edges! Maybe I'm biased because World of Goo is nostalgic for me, I played it in the time where my memory of being conscious starts to blur - I was very young!

The music hits me like a truck, I sat in the menu listening to the 4th world's music over and over... like seriously, kudos to the music people and everyone who contributed to the live instruments! It's fantastic and the World of Goo theme is so original, with SO much character. I wish there were more songs though haha.

I also don't see enough people talking about the graphics and feel of the game, in the first it was very frustrating to have such rigid structures that bend on their own whims. Here, the goo acts like goo and there are rules you can pick up on! And the art is so pretty! Reflections on the moonlit goo lakes, the way the world selection screen spins around in a dizzying way that solidifies World of Goo's character - everything about the game is suffused with World of Goo's original charm.

There were good moment for the story as well, particularly the transition between world 3 and 4 was my favorite! However, the ending was very anticlimatic? Also the stories between each world barely seemed to connect with each other, World of Goo had an overarching storyline of Product Z and World of Goo Corp, here another organization is introduced but is quickly forgotten? It feels like none of the worlds really connected to each other, or the previous game besides their looks which is sad. I do love the little references to the first game, like MOM sending you goo balls in one of the 4th world levels.

I had to give this a review because it's rare now for a singleplayer game to grip me with the strength World of Goo 2 did, the charm, the gameplay, the art - I loved it. World 4 was AMAZING. Puzzle games are as alive as the goo that seeps through the cracks of this city, the mechanics were fun even if some levels felt simple - there were still optional levels for that extra challenge! No way could I OCD every single level, good luck to the person who puts themselves through that pain.

This game makes me and my friends really happy! We have such fun bonding experiences where we instantly get found out thanks to the TIKI TORCHES! I would recommend this game to anyone who has a deep and sentimental relationship with anyone, particularly someone you hold near and dear. With love, as given by Boomerang Fu.

A delightful little game with puzzles that don't get old. There's new gimmicks everywhere and the art enraptures you and pulls you into the world the developers have created, much like the orbs you carry on your back. It's a shorter game but nowadays my time is limited and it's games like these I enjoy the most.

Definitely get it if you're debating it, the price is a lot but this is not just a game - it's art. Games like these are few and far between. Despite the short playtime you'll be thinking about it for a while and there's plenty of secret optional puzzles to uncover, but they're not so hidden it's frustrating to find them.

I would like to love this game and was immediately drawn into playing this from it's style and charm. The gameplay leaves you wishing that the testers gave more and better feedback. There's little glitches that become WAY more obvious and disruptive the further you get through the game and they're insanely frustrating. There's gimmicks that hardly expand upon anything and leave you more and more frustrated as time goes on.

The art is cool, the style is nice. The beginning leaves you going "Wow this could be a really cool game I can't wait to see how the expand on it" and then they barely do, just add gimmicks like escorting a slug that emits light that travels HALF YOUR WALKING SPEED. These annoying sections take way too much time and then the meat dimension is so vile, disgusting, and terribly annoying with the gimmicks and glitches that it was like I was in the meat dimension in real life.

TLDR: The meat dimension ruined the game for me, riddled with 3/4 of the bugs that aren't game breaking enough to quit or rage quit but standing on that line

This is one of the best games I've played recently. I don't play many single player games anymore but this piqued my interest.

With a gameplay that feels like a mix of Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Sonic, it wraps it all up with the style and charm of Outer Wilds, Sky, or Journey.

The story is fantastic, I'm comparing this to Outer Wilds because it deserves to be compared with my favorite game of all time. The story is more in-depth and is able to explore deeper topics while simultaneously keeping you never really feeling left out of the loop. Every corner of this game has purpose and allows you to develop a deeper understanding of the world you find yourself in, and how unassumingly tragic the game is, like Outer Wilds.

The music is phenomenal but purely atmospheric. There weren't any memorable tracks but the music and art style is what made this game rise to my favorites in such a short time. I definitely will be checking out the OST and will use it for background music while studying/working.

Conclusion:
In my opinion games are a form of artwork and this is one of my favorite pieces. Sure, the gameplay could always be more exciting, however, the intrigue of the story, the secrets behind every corner, the fast-paced movement, and the gorgeous art style kept my attention and continuously provided a memorable and enjoyable experience of a lifetime.

I have never been so interested in some random game I saw on Youtube. That night I bought the game, played it till 3 am which was a terrible yet so rewarding decision. The procedural generation has never fit with a genre so well. Procedural generation is known for making things that don't make sense, or redundant, and what better way to make that fit with a detective game? Now these negatives are huge positives as red herrings, and a huge pool of data to figure out what's important. Despite lag and a couple immersion-breaking bugs, I would recommend this game to everybody I know.

Great example of the crazy things this game can do:
I was exploring a new crime scene, I had locked the door because I knew the police were coming. I was in the bedroom looking for clues by the body when suddenly a police officer bugged through the wall, jumpscaring me. I quickly hid under the bed hoping they hadn't seen me, and recovering a bit from the scare. Bored because I knew they would investigate the body for a bit, I decided to look at the shoes around me for their sizes in case that would help. From the dark corners under the bed, I caught sight of a book. I crawl over and it's the murder victim's personal notebook detailing a stalker and two friends of hers that she's been sharing her concerns to and wants to stay the night at. I learned the stalker's hair and gender too which were immensely helpful. On the wall was written "(victim's name) and N. forever). N being the first letter of the murderer's name, I got out of the crime scene after a couple of hours and broke into the security feed, looking for blonde civilians on the first floor. There they were, and I even had their name already because I had searched through the records of most businesses! Their name starts with an N too, I had found them due to crazy circumstances that led to me finding the notebook under the bed. I was in the right place at the right time and unraveled the mystery in record time, before they could murder another.

As you can see this game is crazy fun, the emergent storytelling it creates is unmatched. Since this is early access too, this is going to go super far, if they add multiplayer the potentials for detective v. detective are crazy, they have literally built a city sandbox that's super fleshed out and they could do so much with it. The positives far outweigh the negatives you might find if you like emergent storytelling games, and just like the example I used above, sometimes the bugs push you in the right direction.

Oh my god is it amazing. Absolutely fantastic game, it's even more addictive than satisfactory. It's in early access and that's what's exciting about it! They could have just released this by itself and it would have been an awesome game, the fact that there's going to be MORE is amazing. This is an example of what early access should be like. I've played 11 hours of the game so far and every single one has been awesome. The views are amazing, I spent a minute trying to see if I could track with my eyes one ship from one planet going to another. The lighting is fantastic and the sheer scale of everything is what makes it so incredible. An entire solar system to play around with? And after that multiple star systems?! There's so much content for me to discover and I'm looking forward to it. There are a couple things that could make this perfect though.
The two issues I saw were the translation errors which I could live with and the lack of instruction which can be a pro or a con. The translation errors get worse as time goes on but that'll be fixed in time so it's not too much of a worry for me. One of the things that is clear though is that it is not friendly to new gamers, it gives you the controls and no objective. The tutorial messages don't tell you "Hey, in most production games this is how it works", you need to know that beforehand. There were some parts like the fact that you can research faster when putting in cubes into the research makers that I had no idea about until it was too late. But I guess better late than never. I'd spend so long waiting for all my research to slowly be done as time passes by until I got about halfway through all the red research and realized I could make it go faster. Looking up answers to your problems you have no idea how to solve is probably a good idea and with that this game would go fine for you, it's just there's not much direction. All in all though, those two were my only negatives about the game and the positives outweigh the negatives so much it's like comparing a car to a feather. Seriously, buy this game if factorio, satisfactory, or outer wilds has ever been an interest to you or if you've played it. You will not regret it and if you do, you can always return it.

(Agh I forgot to put this in but the music gets a bit repetitive although it is adaptive which is really cool. I just wish there were more songs to listen to while you work.)

Great game, feels a little empty currently, but that takes time. There are cool adventures you can go on with random people you've never met along with friends and it's really fun. I've watched it grow for a little bit and each new quest they add makes it way more fun to play. Definitely try it out if you're on the fence about buying it or not.

I've played the first few hours of the game, and so far, I haven't experienced much grinding like everyone complains. Probably because I haven't gotten chest-deep into the story, this review is a little innacurate, but overall no matter what, this game was great for the first few hours. Worth the full price! With it's beautiful graphics, and amazing world, you just feel so great when playing this game!
