So I was a big fan of the first game. Being someone who wanted to really get into the souls series but never could because in all honestly, building your character and combat itself is rather simple once you know how to dodge, you dont have to put much thought into stuff. NioH changed that though, and made things japanese, yokai demons pitted against humans, the weapons, armor, charms. Now the first game was lacking definitely needed lots of polish, but the second game fixed that completely as well as expanded upon it, I put hundreds of hours into it, most of which are on console, while starting it over and putting another 200 into it on pc.

This one though... where to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ start. First off, I have been waiting since I beat the 2nd game for this one, not even knowing if theyd make a third or not. BUT THANK ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ GOD THEY DID. to put it simply, they improved upon all the formulas that were already there within the second one, added new and more weapons WITHOUT REMOVING any weapons from the past. Co-op in this is is also really nice with how they handled it, so far it has been a blast and not a headache playing with other players (which most soulslikes fail to do).

Now to the BIG BAD EGG for this new installment... ZHE WORLDOOOOO. IYKYK. They ditched the mission based system from the previous games for the most part. Remember playing those games and getting stuck in a mission not feeling powerfull enough to continue, but you didnt have that item that let you leave the mission so you just had to brute force your way through hell and back to get out of it? yeah.. that doesnt really exist in this one. OPEN WORLD BABY!!!! Now this is something I wanted for the series since I beat the first 2. So no more getting stuck at a boss feeling underleveled (for the most part), there are still some instances that you cant back out of without certain items, to my knowledge atleast. But it helps keep the essence of what the game is.

Weapons? Well there are new introductions for those as well, not a lot but ones that definitely were needed. How you unlock new moves for them and increase familiarity with them to boost their stats? Oh yeah you slutty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ grinder, that is still there, so put on your dancin shoes and start swinging.

At this current point in time I got about 10hrs in the demo, in which I beat before release and have put another 22.2hrs into the full launch title, currently at lvl82 and bashing through the second map era at the time of this review. I can confidently say that I am enjoying this installment into the series more than I ever enjoyed the first 2.

They have gone above and beyond in my mind for this title. Too improve what already existed as well as adding onto it. And as far as I am aware, not a single bug to speak of so far.

And ughh, pro tip if you are struggling with some weapons against some enemies. When in doubt TONFA it out. They are still the most violent ki destroyers. And when it comes to ninja style, whenever you use a combo that ends with a slightly long animation lock that stops you from immediately starting a new attack chain, use your right bumper to do the mist dodge and you can immediately start a new chain out of it. Cutting the time between your chains by half, sometimes more.

Getting a Nioh tattoo to celebrate the new addition to the cute yokai roster, welcome chijiko :)

So to counter those saying you have to beat the game or complete all the way to ending c,d or e in order to get all the dlc. You dont have to, you can do all the arena fights during route A and route B. You simply just have to be strong enough to. Yes, I was enjoying the cosmetics during my route A. Do I care for them? Nope. Being perfectly honest, 2B's outfit look after you self-destruct with her standard black dress is just better. Given that, I wouldnt bother with this unless you want to do the combat arena's.

When asked if I wanted to sacrifice my save file in order to help someone in need. I chose too. Not because I believed in the games word. But simply because I hope for there to be more good in the world. I achieved all I wanted to in NieR:Automata. The story lines. The characters. Each story of every weapon. The challenges. As well as the achievements. My journey here is done.

To those before me and to those after me.

I played this game a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on ps4, then I set my ps3 back up and played dirt 3. WHERE THE ♥♥♥♥ IS THE TRAILBLAZERS IN DIRT 4?!?!?!!? Dirt 3 will always be a god compared to this. Important note though is that earning money in this game is extremely easy, Im talking millions within 2 hours, levels are different though.

As someone who grew up playing lego star wars 1 and 2 on the gamecube, then lego star wars 3 and the complete saga. This game was a massive disappointment. In no way should a lego game have dlc character packs. Also adding rpg elements to characters and skills and ♥♥♥♥ is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ horrible idea in this game. Ive replayed the old lego star wars games since this one came out because I wasnt going to play a lego game with stupid rpg and skill elements. This game nearly ruined my Lego fan childhood.

Now dont get me wrong, I loved all the souls games, sekiro and elden ring aswell, mostly on consoles. But Nioh 2 goes above and beyond for what I wanted in a dark themed souls rpg. People have got this wild thought over the last decade or so that you shouldnt have to grind or farm or play long to get the best gear or perfect your build. I was so glad that this game said ♥♥♥♥ THOSE PEOPLE. All the tiny stats you can grind for and roll for are perfect to me, its what Ive always wanted being someone who used to play WoW a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Its nice to see a game that really lets you get down to the nitty gritty parts of your build, and Im not talking darksouls levels of nitty gritty. Im talking way deeper than that... only thing Id change is making it open world instead of mission based, but honestly hasnt bothered me much.
