I mean, if we're really honest with ourselves, salt doesn't quite do the job well enough. It just washes off in the pan. Personally, I like to use make a paste with Knorr beef stock pot and coat the steak with it. Again, it's your choice how many stock pots you use. Some people like a lot, some people like less, your choice.
