I don't know what you could want out of a single player video game that Ori doesn't deliver on.

Beautiful art? Check
Engaging gameplay that feels like an exceedingly well done 2D, Metroid-style adventure? Check
Hauntingly beautiful soundtrack? Check
Better story telling in the first 10 minutes without a single spoken word than 90% of AAA titles on the market? Check
Perfect length to tell the story and not drag on, but room to return for achievement completion if you want? Check

The only thing I could remotely think to say is that if you aren't an avid platformer fan, there are a couple parts that will probably challenge you, but it's worth bucking up and overcoming them. Platformer veterans probably won't find Ori extremely challenging, but it has plenty of areas that you can't sleep through and the story and art are so engaging you won't even notice or mind if you're having an easy time with it.

It's an amazing, beautiful game. Worth every penny.

Darkout has very quickly become one of my favorite sandbox games. Grungy Sci-fi, well-written plot communicated via discarded data logs and patchy radio transmissions, and sandbox exploration and construction? Absolutely.

To be completely honest, there is less in the way of pure progression content than there is in, say, Terraria, and there is currently a bug that can prevent progression through the main quest. That said, the price is still justified in my mind as there is still plenty enough to do even though you can run into a show-stopper for the main quest, that doesn't really block your character's progression, which is what sandbox games are really all about, right?

The dev team is also quite dedicated; a control bug I reported on the forums received dev responses shortly after and was fixed two days later. It was an easy-to-fix problem, granted, but it was definitely nice to see that sort of response to the community.

I would highly recommend Darkout to anyone who enjoys sandbox games and/or sci-fi. And I can only really see the experience improving as the game becomes more polished and possibly has content added to it.
