Overall great game. Controller input delay as a design choice is absolutely insane, and the control bindings are idiosyncratic. You'll get used to it but I don't think they've done enough playtesting...

Lots of small compounding frustrating game design choices that I really cannot understand (like needing to resort your inventory every time you visit another merchant, just keep it on the same setting!), but overall a beautiful and interesting game. Many of the quests feel a little too shallow but the main quest seems fun so far. Played about 60 hours at the point of this review and have only really explored the first region and parts of Pailune.

I would say: wait another 6 months before you buy it, so these dumb design choices have been smoothed out a little.

Fantastic game. From spontaneous friendly encounters to rats laying in wait to stab you in the back, no raid is the same.

The ARC are challenging and have a great learning curve; the maps are made with attention to detail and each facilitate different playstyles (though Spaceport can have a bit of a rework, too empty). Learning the maps, crafting trees and how to not die due to stupid mistakes is 90% of this game. Once you've done that, you're entering the 10% that is infinitely replayable: PVP.
I haven't heard smack talk this good since COD lobbies on XBOX360 with everyone's ♥♥♥♥♥♥ standard mics that came with the console itself. Some people are diabolical and use this game to run the most elaborate trolls and nasty tricks in the book on you. In which case the only thing you can do is 1) learn, 2) laugh about it, 3) say GG and respect that the other player got game, or 4) uninstall, leave a negative review and go play a coop game.

For those who dislike PVP, just don't get this game. Don't cry about being shot in the back and call it "unfair" or "no honor". There are no rules and you got dunked on, deal with it. "But PVP-only and PVE-only modes!!!", congratulations: this knuckleheaded idea would completely kill the premise of this game. Either accept your fate and get back on your feet, or uninstall because this game is fundamentally PvPvE. Without the lows, the highs wouldn't feel good either.

For the rest, the AUDIO is insanely good. 95% of PVP is listening to your environment. You can hear people manouevre around you, and with some map knowledge, that gives you a massive advantage.

Yes, I would recommend this game. I already played about 60 hours on a pirated copy but decided to buy it just because it was deserved.

9/10 game overall, very nice.

Reasons to buy:
- Accessible gameplay
- Variety & replayability

Reasons not to buy:
- No option for multiplayer matchmaking
- No option to fastforward bot actions on the board or during mini games, leading to boring situations (i.e. watching a bot swing across the minigame while you and the players have to wait - surely this could be sped up, they are BOTS)
- No option to play 1v1, required bots for vacant slots

Either allow less than 4 players, make bots faster and less boring to look at, or add multiplayer.

Also, no 21:9 support. It's 2025. Seriously.

Just be up front about charging for stuff. I'd rather pay 20 euros for a game than a subscription for a season pass.
Being deceptive about this on the page doesn't look good on Ubisoft's end. But it is ubisoft, so no surprises. ♥♥♥♥ company, ♥♥♥♥ practices.

You have choices, but they don't mean anything. If it's on a massive discount, get it. At full price, hell no. Mods make this game feel like a real game, even adds new quests and cut content - makes it worthwhile.

All the shops are the same (copies with different NPCs on top of it). You get to own your own shop, but you can't sell anything - it's just another retexture of a shop! People paid for that on PS5.

Even on hard mode it's easy. Just get potions and spam spells.

Classes? Never heard of them, they're just cut scenes.

Story is okay, but the lack of choices removes all engagement. Sebastian's quest line is literally better than the main story: personal involvement, opposing characters with tragic arcs, choices that actually make a difference.

6/10 - just because they nailed the castle and the music.

Just realised this came out in 2014 - certainly doesn't feel like it. Comfort game that I keep coming back to occasionally play.

I wouldn't buy it for 20 euros, but I would definitely recommend it if it were on discount.

Do you enjoy being cut down like a twig hit by a truck? Then this is the game for you.
Enjoy the first 10 hours having no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ clue what's happening to you, while other people run past and laugh at your corpse. This game perfectly appeals to the deep-seated masculine urge to spread pure carnage.
