Despite a limited diplomacy element, this is a fun 4X game from a team of developers committing to maintenance and feature expansion.

The little I have played has been fun, but a new disconnect bug has made this game unenjoyable.

I think when they finish overhauling it, it will be better. But for now, I recommend people hold off.

I would best describe Hawken as resting between MechWarrior4 and a FPS.

The action is fast paced, and the mechs have a lot of balance. A light mech isn't automatically going to get stomped by a heavy (unless the light mech tries to play like a heavy).
