For a 10 year old game to last this long, the developers must be doing something right. The community of players are really helpful and patient to newer ones. The grind is real but it can be fun with the right people. Each frame offers a unique play style that would suit your combat preferences. The lore of the game is pretty deep. The content creators on YouTube are very helpful too.

Been playing Monster Hunter way back when it was on PSP. Hours of grinding for parts and other stuff to make the best armor set and weapon for each hunt. The solo grind was manageable until you hit a wall (i.e. a monster your DPS can't kill within the allotted 50 minute quest duration).

Team game was always fun. Each hunter doing their roles to take down each target. I always enjoyed playing ranged support who constantly set up my teammates for their openings to shatter, cut and eventually kill or capture the target.

I am not surprised that MHW really made an impact and was able to allow both old and new players to have thousands of hours of fun doing the MH grind. The improvements are greatly appreciated (i.e. free infinite whetstones, better maps. no need for paint bombs, no need to craft picks/nets).

it stood the test of time. games that endure for more than 5 years are worth playing. the devs are diligent and keep the servers working and stable. new content are always available.

the in-game world is HUGE! it got the good elements of RPGS and a whole lot more. the character classes are fluid enough to allow you to explore traditional builds and weird experimental ones.

the player community is a nice bunch of folks. from hardcore RPG players to casuals to cosplayers.

it's not a perfect game. it has stupid bugs and outdated features that should be fixed (some people just would not do their freakin' jobs to fix those)

the DLCs are ok. new content is always good. the variety of in game activities is good. from heists to open world activities. pick one and enjoy!

the rendering of Los Angeles is amazing! from the beach to the city to the mountains and desert regions. it's a good break from the isolation we have been stuck in for the past 2 years because of this stupid chinese virus (yes it's a chinese virus!)

the grind game to make money is real. if you have friends, it makes the grind less of a chore. if you have no friends, too bad.

The game is a good coop shooter. Instead of waves of mindless zombies, you fight off cops. Some missions are easy and straight up shoot out while some require calculated moves and clockwork coordination.
