Eternal Return is the type of game that has a challenging barrier of entry but it's perfect for self-betterment and seeing improvement if you put yourself to it. It's not the most casual-friendly game but it's very enjoyable and competitively rich.

The constant big updates the game has also makes it constantly feel fresh and different - test subjects (champions), items, augments (think runes from League) and the other plethora of features are constantly added and tweaked but make every meta different.

This definitely isn't the game for everyone, but I greatly suggest that you at least try to invest some hours into it and see if the unique base concept is for you. You may get stomped by seeming gods a million times but you'll learn and learn and this process is very gratifying.
