“Hark! Verily I hath discovered the most noble of diversions: FPS Chess.

No longer must I settle disputes upon the board with mere pawns and bishops—nay! For now I may unsheathe a flintlock pistol and blast yon rook into the stratosphere, whilst declaring ‘Checkmate, good sir!’ with powder smoke billowing about mine person.

The thrill of seeing a humble pawn, that most disposable of footmen, suddenly wield firearms of remarkable potency doth stir in mine bosom a joy unmatched. The noble Queen? A veritable engine of destruction. The Knight? A horse with hops most unholy.

Never hath I felt such loyalty to a game since my liege granted me bread and cheese in the Year of Our Lord 1327. Truly, FPS Chess hath supplanted my devotion to both crown and country. Should His Majesty request my service in battle, I must politely decline—for I am already enlisted in wars most righteous upon the chequered field.
