However, even his own followers can’t understand his reasoning (as represented by them slipping on the peels), and thus Robbie’s ideological approach is as fruitless as the peels that it was based upon.

Even though Robbie’s effort was fruitless, he never gives up his effort to stop exploitative dictator Sportaflop who never allows any space for “laziness.”

Here, Robbie came up with a brilliant new plan to stop Sportaflop’s totalitarian rule, by placing the outer layer of a commercial fruit known as “Banana,” he lets his followers to learn his will to bring justice in the town, where people can restrain working, rest, and do nothing as long as they want.

The banana peel is also symbolic of the hypocritical nature of Sportaflop’s dictatorial rule over Lazytown. While the inner fruit of the banana is eaten, a piece of it is left behind; a piece widely regarded as worthless. However, the path to “fitness” requires full dedication, and the fact that Sportaflop and his followers discard the peel of the banana is symbolic of a flaw in their ideology which Robbie hopes to exploit.

This phrase was shouted often in Robbie’s youth as he worked as an under payed whale boat fisherman alongside his verbally abusive father, the late Robbie Rotten Sr. Rotten Sr. would scold his ne'er do well son for casting the fishnet onto him in place of the prized beluga along the port bow. Sportacus, like that beluga, is so ever elusive and an everlasting source of pain and torment that continuously haunts Robbie Rotten.

This line demonstrates the meticulous planning that Robbie Rotten does in order to implement his schemes. The amount of effort which he puts into these plans shows that he is not truly “lazy” as followers of the Sportacus ideology claim, but rather that he understands the value of targeted leisure and rest as part of a greater strategy necessary for true self-actualization.

Robbie is informing the clones of a his newest plan to capture Sportaflop by procuring a net. Saying that he “just found” it implies it was just dangerously lying around that Robbie happened to have chanced upon. However, given Robbie’s generally evil intents, he could possibly be lying and could have obtained it through other, more illegal means such as stealing it from somewhere. This also begs the question: why would there be a net in a town dedicated to being lazy? Might there be some back alley gang dedicated to smuggling of villain merchandise?
