I'm giving this a not recommended with the qualifier that this is purely personal taste.

The game seems fine mechanically and engine wise. It runs well, is a solid tactics game and is visually adequate. Functionally nothing's wrong with it, and I'd argue its a perfectly fine product. Hell it has steam deck support and it runs amazingly on it!

This game also shows that McMillen has basically existed in a vacuum for 15 years. The art style is the same, the name's kinda edgy and the writing is trite, poop humor is everywhere and gameplay is mostly random chance with a slight twinge of skill needed. If this is your thing or you need something comfortable that reminds you of the '10s, that's perfectly fine. I just feel that after 15 years my personal tastes have shifted away from this kinda game.

Quite possibly the most earnest adaptation of the Touhou series to another genre, with some cheeky mecha fandom sprinkled in for funsies. Every character rules, the story does a great job fleshing out the plots of the original games, and mechanically more gratifying than what i've experienced in a SRW game.

I have no idea who the Aki Sisters were before this game and now I will die for the glory of Autumn after they consistently carried me through this game.

Probably the best entry level way to get into 2hu. Coincidentally, one of the best ways to get your nuts crushed SMT style.

Help I started working on my college practical exam and its been an untold amount of time since i've been outside. What year is it? Where's my childhood girlfriend?? Why do Fae Children keep trying to deliver uber eats to me and also clean my house?! I HAVE A SYSTEM FOUL CHILDREN DONT TOUCH ANYTHING.

oh btw game's great. you can also play it on the stream deck just expect no FMV cutscenes and possible crashes when traversing dungeons. Little glitchy but its where most of my play time came from.

A pretty decent logistics simulator. Nowhere near as complex as the Anno series or Factorio but its a neat dip into the genre with pretty good pixel graphics. I just wish the lategame was more active since it involves a *lot* of waiting and I can't exactly play anything else on steam with this on.

What if we NiS iterated on Etrian Odyssey with a head crushing amount of mechanics, streamlined gameplay and a more fleshed out plot?

If you've watched this game played through, its not the players fault. This game sucks and will make you turn on your friends and revel in it stealing your life. Buy literally anything else, like porn.

I have 8 hours of this game. 4 of them were just navigating the menus with such ferocity that I have wound up with end of disc 1 gear by the 3rd town and i'm only lvl 20. Everyone has all skills accessed through writing at 7. I can output so much esoteric gear I might be able to do a bomb-only playthrough. I have set the difficulty to galaxy, its still not enough to stop me.

This remake rules.

Preface: People are review bombing this game because nerds that lack imagination don't find a form fitting skintight bodysuit for an event sexy.

Actual review: The 3rd game in a long-running world building series, PM has taken to the gatcha style of gameplay in order to convey their next narrative literary epic. Unlike their past games, Limbus has a more streamlined combat system that respects your time way more than the past games while still offering flexible and dynamic gameplay. Art and music are also at the top of their game here, with much more dynamic music and more CG artists allowing for more expression in the narrative. The gatcha system isn't predatory at all either, with several systems set in place to get identities quickly if you're taking parts in events or the main plot.

Sadly, since this is a gatcha you can kinda tell they're out of their element in terms of pacing. You may find yourself stuck in a bevy of cutscenes or fights without any times for breaks. Given this being a live service as well for such a small team, there are pockets of time where there's no new content.

Would still highly recommend the game though. Game is free and story is approachable even at a f2p angle. Don't let nerds dissuade you, its a great game.

Full disclaimer, the gameplay is legit good even for the first entry with the series. I just find the plot morally reprehensible at a certain point. Just play the others, they're better about that stuff.
