Mind over Magic is a great idea and concept, but it is too staged and seems like a linear game.
Let's say you want to hire more teachers. The 4-th teacher require like nothing, but a Ritual Sigil. The 9-th teacher requires this sigil in the TOP TIER ritual rooms which are hidden behind a great grind wall(resources/graduated students/research level 3 and special room/stuff member) with a capacity of schooll (without upgrades) is 21. Where are 7 different magic types and you want to have at least 1 mage in each specialization to open high tier magic spells. You could choose multiclass - they are versatile, but lack in power and there are some game restrictions on combinations(elements must work well together[without spoilers])

You are grindwalled most of the time by research/rare resources found in the underschool and and luckwalled with relics/summoned students and NEED of a SPECIAL STAFF members, that could perform certain actions, students could not. And some actions could be performed only by students (hatch some beasts for example).

So you think - I will hire new stuff members and retire old ones. Sorry lad - you may be f*cked by "conviction system". If you retire/graduate a member who is preferred to be eating/recreating/etc with you will have a -20 morale boost which will drop your conviction to almost a break state. Break is not that bad, right?
Actually it is. Mental breaks and KO in battles are too punishing. Each break/KO brings you to "at death door". If you are not acting fast - you mage is gone forever. Even if you ressurect - you get a negative status after healing which adds a new dislike to a mage, that may ruin your mage and your plant on what he/she/it should do in your school. Imagine your strongest and only capable in gathering important plant nature mage now HATES using nature magic!

Conviction system is so broken right now - you are forced to make a lot of things to progress and you literally can't hire enough stuff and build the infrastructure till late game. Yes. And dragon hatching ritual (if you don't have enough nature mages and other stuff) is more annoying than entertaining. You seems like wasting a lot of time without visible progress.

So you have to play chilll without rushing anything, or you will write some similar review on a great game, because you could end up being dissapointed by the final result.

Wiki in game seems excellent, but magic is not logical and wiki says nearly NOTHING about thing around. How long does this plant grow? I don't know...
You could get that resource from a beast? Yes. What are the conversion rate? Go to the recearch bar and hope for any info there. That really sucks. If you want us to reseach that - hide that info in research and show once we've found out.

In Oxygen not included database is much better. But knowing all from the start is not ideal. But I've seen a great "Wiki" that opens new knowledge once you learn/see something new in "Battle for Wesnoth" game.

Долго сомневался брать игру или не брать. Отзывы крайне противоречивы. В общем взял и очень рад. игра спокойная и неторопливая, что гарантирует приятное времяпровождение уже сейчас. А ещё и апдейты ждут! Пока осваиваюсь в сингле, перед тем как ринуться в мир мультиплеера данного шедевра!
